Due to a leaking heater core, I disassembled the dash and removed the heater core in my 2009 Liberty. In the process, I removed the heater's Mode & Blend Door Assembly. The gasket along the edge of the Mode Door for the mid-dash vents appears to be melted/deteriorated. The other 3 doors & gaskets in the assembly look good as new. Don't know why only 1 door gasket was deteriorated and not the others? I don't know if the deterioration was caused by excess heat, antifreeze, A/C refrigerant, or an unknown spill/chemical by the previous owner? Has anyone seen this gasket deterioration before?
Also, I would like to repair the gasket situation before reinstalling the heater assembly. I would like to replace only the door involved, if one is available, as the complete Mode/Blend door assembly appears to sell for $150 or so. The Part Number on the Mode Door in question is: T1001979S A I could find nothing on the Web or Jeep Parts Catalog. Anyone out there have any info on this door/Part Number: T1001979S A
Thanks for any info.
Phil
