:P For anyone needing Mopar 545 RFE OEM filters, found, ordered, and received both OEM filters from a Jeep dealer on line for $45 and free shipping. Hard to beat that price and I even called and verified with sales rep using VIN number to make sure it fit CRD trans.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/45RFE-545RFE-68RFE-Trans-Filter-Kit-Dodge-Jeep-5179267ac-5013470ad-MOPAR-/190693763177?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2c663be869&vxp=mtr
He was most helpful and I received the order in just four days. Plan to service the tranny today. :JEEPIN:

I know of no reason why these folks would not be legit but a bit of historic caution. Way back in the early days Mopar got a bad bunch of filters that aggravated the tranny drain back problem and there was even a TSB issued. Apparently some bottom feeders went dumpster diving or some such and for a long time were selling those bad Mopar brand filters on eBay. I suspect that bad new old stock is long gone but did want to post a heads up if ordering on eBay just in case.

I have the parts in hand and they have the correct part numbers and are in Mopar OEM boxes. I also talked to the sales person on the phone to verify vin number fit which he was able to do. I gather they are a dealer selling parts on ebay trying to make a living. They been selling on ebay since 2003 with a 99.8% rating. If they had sold bad parts, I think this would show up? That is the reason I waited until I had the parts in hand before I posted the good deal.
Buyer should always beware when ordering on line! :2cents:

Wix 58843 Includes both filters and a gasket

I've used this kit every time I've serviced the tranny

Hi Bugnout - how do you find the gasket? I ask because I recall reading someone (can't recall who) advising against gaskets and only to use RTV.

I serviced my transmission this past week and installed new mopar filters! The pan was glued on with silicone sealer when I removed it, (had to pry it off) and I cleaned it and re-installed it using new silicone sealer which I allowed to cure for 24 hours before adding ATF oil. After several days of driving and checking for leaks, not a single leak, trans pan is totally dry, not even a drop!!!!
I would skip the gasket, they tend to allow some oil to seep through over time... :2cents:

The filter kit I used when I changed my filters was from Napa Auto Parts. I'm not sure of the actual part number but it did come with both filters and a gasket. My pan was sealed on with the sealant. I pulled pan and was able to clean it off nicely. I used the gasket that came with it and I have not had any leaks. There are a few cracks on the edges but no leaks. I don't remember exactly when I changed them. But it's been quite a while....over a year if I remember correctly.

I can get both filters and gaskets for $25 from O'reilly's. I already used them and no drain back problem. The wix kit is 36.01 includes both filters and gasket. Your choices

Never had a problem with the gasket leaking.

Thanks Bugnout - I think I'll invest in the gasket. We don't have O'Reillys over here BlackLiberty, but I can get the Wix kit from Rockauto, as they have an export service (and actually also have a co.uk web address). Thanks for the replies chaps!

Hi,

i got my filterset from this ebay-shop: http://www.ebay.de/itm/GETRIEBEFILTER-S ... 460d042a46

For the German-language region it´s the best offer i think..

the only difference to the picture in the advertisment is, that the seal is not made of rubber it`s made of cork.

But i always use a sealant not a seal...

The kits that amazon have sent me don't have the oil pump seal; can anyone tell me the part number for this seal and I'll order it separately.
