So do you think he was shipped 6" springs by mistake? And is 2" of settling normal? If stock height is 19.5 in the back while it's new, then how is 22" a 4" lift? I don't question your knowledge on lifts, I just can't understand the math here. As I said I'm sure it'll all work out and all will be satisfied.

No the spring is not stacked in that photo
Those are two springs one on top of one another
some early models were that way to achieve the height and correct weight

I've not seen that done before. But then it really is stacked :), but meant to be. It confused me because that's not how I'd think springs to look.

This is one way to get the spring rate and performance you want from a setup Cherrie. For example you could have say a 450 lb spring on the bottom and 400 on top, The 400 would of course flex faster than the bottom one creating the lift and the ride you want. Its all calculated on lift, weight of the vehicle, etc. Its one of the reasons JeepinByAl has a whole bunch of various springs with different rates piled up from testing to get the right setup before any were sold.

It give some peoples measurements as of a year ago. I just find it weird the the rear 4" springs on some people seem to be giving about the sane lift height ad the OME lift.
I feel like I'm being greedy, but if I got a defective pair or the wrong size then I'm hoping to get the right ones. I played a lot of money for every inch. If there is an explanation that accounts for the height differences then I'll be happy. I'm sure Marlin will sort this out.
perhaps in the mean time I can put my old daystar rear pucks in and boost it back up 24"?

I assume that that is the blasphemous "d" word.
Now I await my Muddy death or at least trip to the hospital. :grim:
I've got two sets of JBA isos. I was going to put them on anyway, before I realized I was riding in a low rider :ROTFL: . Was going to do 2 on the driver one passenger to correct the lean. So how much does each is trend to lift?

I think each isolator get about a 1/2" of lift.

I still don't understand why the CRD springs stack faster than the gasser springs. Even with the progressive rate coils you would expect the gasser to give 1st.

Oh and where are you're bumpstops Tom? You should know better :jester:

I think I get it. I think Rugby's are an older model where they are softer in the center instead on top where mine are. But I still think its odd that he's barely cranked down while I'm really cranked down.

Hey everyone!
Sorry for being so late to the party, but here are my thoughts on the subject:
It may be possible that I did receive the 6" springs, although I don't think this is what happened. It should also be noted that the only visible difference in the rear is the fact that I am not running my rear sway bar since I lifted her. I have also thought about adjusting the front coil overs where I would be even, instead of being higher in the rear, but I'd rather not put more strain on the front components.

As ATH noted, I did wheel pretty hard in Germany over the four years I was there, so I don't think wear is a factor here either.

That's what will be the tell tale for 6" springs. I know Jeepin_it_reel sits at 23.75"(6" rear springs). That was back in August. Maybe he'll stop by if he has time and see this topic.

I always thought the same. His painted fenders might be an optical illusion, too which look so awesome on the white KK.

Maybe he did get the 6" then. Texas is sitting at 23.75-24". The other guy I meet is sitting at 23.75" after almost a month though.

If that's what he's measuring in back, then it sounds like 6" springs to me. Figure a stock KK sits around 19" in the rear. 24" would be 5". Broken in springs plus the added weight of a bumper and you have that 1" sag.

So Marlin contacted me back,
Quote:
The rear springs were designed to sit at 22.50” to 23.25”, if you are not there with your rear springs I will ship out new ones to you.

So this is the official rear height specs for the 4".
So it looks like I am sitting a little lower by about an inch 21.5 and 22" in the rear. Texas must have got either super strong un-saggable springs or the 6". But I'm happy it looks like it will work out. Marlin's a good guy.
