Hey everyone,
i posted this in another forum but figured id post it here for all who might enjoy, i was wandering through the kj forum earlier, when i came across a mod someone had done for side mirror lights on the kj that are similar to the wrangler style. i thought this was quite interesting and thought that if the internals of the kk side mirrors was about the same as the kj's then this would be a cool mod for anyone wanting more lighting that was similar to the wrangler style windshield mounting. below is the link to the original post. hope you enjoy.

Interesting mod. I think Infernicus (KJ) and Jckobo (KK) have A-pillar lights on their rigs, but neither one mounted them on the mirrors. Here is a JeepForum thread about cowl lights on KK's: http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f292/wrangler-style-off-road-lights-1558534/

Never seen them on the mirrors before. I think someone else has KK pillar lights. And infernicus has cowl lights. There should be some write ups on them around here somewhere.

Problem with the mirror mounts that the one guy did is the fact that you could no longer fold your mirrors in. Some may not care but theres many times where I've had to
Mounting to the cowl area works to a point but there is not much to bolt to. I've even seen some just bolt to the plastic but any vibration would be transmitted right to the lights

I designed brackets to hold led pods only drawn and know what to use but haven't built them yet

I came across a thread (don't remember if it was LOST or JF) but there was a grand Cherokee that used the brackets where the hood mounts and bolted straight to those with an angled bracket for the lights.

He mounted two dually cubes on either side. I've been thinking about trying that route

if you don't ind you can use a hi grade 3m silicone to glue the light bracket to the wind shield.i did it with a rear light on my old xj on the rear glass. the piaa light that was a heavy piece lasted two years or more in the glued to the glass until i sold the car, used a knife to remove it and scraped the silicone out of the car.
