I give props to other brands, I'm just picky with what I like. I prefer GM engines is all. Can't beat the LS line lol.

Oh, figured I'd post this up. Not Liberty related, but it is Jeep related....something I know we all follow lol

Morning all. About 6 inches of snow here and no signs of it stopping.
Tire shop called to confirm my order of 5 BFG's. Looks like I'll be able to test them out in the snow.

They've downgraded us to 8-16". It hasn't started yet but it's supposed to start sometime early this afternoon with the most coming overnight. 1-2" per hour at times. Bring it on.

In other news, bonus check came today. I'm so tempted to buy a lift but I'm still on the fence. I've stashed some cash away for either a vacation or lift. Vacation is almost a necessity at this point, lift not so much.

What are you on the fence about?
An OME lift is about $800.
Where are you planning to go on vacation?

Just about the potential to lose further MPGs. My strictly highway commute requires me to get the best MPGs possible. I know, shouldn't have bought a Jeep, but I wanted it. :D Also, the potential for issues with the traction control, etc. I just wouldn't want to be chasing gremlins. And to avoid any issues I may cause doing the installation myself, I was looking at having a shop do it for simplicity's sake. But that means more money.

And I don't have plans for a vacation. I just need one soon and the ability to go wherever at the drop of a hat and have the cash saved up already is a nice feeling.

My 4 inch lift had a negligible effect on my gas mileage. It's the larger tires and roof rack that I installed that really had the effect! :JEEPIN:

I doubt you'll notice a change in mpg UNLESS you add different tires.
It's a little more than 2 inches, not 6.
I hear ya on being able to go anywhere. Whatever will make ya happiest.
Also, I haven't had any issues with traction control.

I did my 3.5" lift and 245/75-16s all at once so I can't say which killed my mileage. But I'm sitting around 14 or so depending on driving etc. My hunting trip upstate I saw anywhere from 13-16 all weekend long. Now the time before that, I averaged around 17-18, so it was a bit of a hit lol.

As far as TCS, it isn't bad. You hear it on certain turns. Like pulling out of my driveway gets it since I'm on the gas. You hear the noise and sometimes see the light, but you don't feel it kick in. When I make a left at this one intersection I get it no matter what, but as long as I'm not on the gas you don't feel it. And either way the light won't turn on.

The stiffer springs tend to help avoid the tcs problem.

Well I watched my mileage go from 19 to 14 just by adding the 225/75/16 DuraTracs this past fall. Granted I may have been on winter gas by then. Maybe I'll wait until spring to see if any vacation opportunities arise and if summer blend fuel balances things out for me.

My traction control kicks in when I turn out of my driveway now but that's only when there's fresh snow on the ground. Is yours constant whenever you leave your driveway?

I have done my mods piecemeal, and since I use Fuelly I keep good records of gas mileage.
Skid plates and sliders -0 mpg (no effect)
Roof basket -2 mpg
4 inch Lift -0 to -0.5 mpg (hardly any change)
245/75/16 Duratracs -3 to -4 mpg (the biggest factor)
Of course the mpg loss is on the higher side with the winter blend gas. My stock mileage was 14 in the city and 22 highway. I have been averaging 11-12 in the city and 15-16 on the highway with the mods, but I do try and follow behind semis to capitalize on the extra 1-2 mpg they give me on the highway. Note: I am 3 seconds behind the trucks, not drafting like a fool. If a piece of road debris comes under the semi, I have time to react.

Depends on how I leave it. If I'm in a hurry it kicks in. If not, sometimes it doesn't. I live on a major street so some hard acceleration is usual for me. I also notice that if I cut it short and drop off the curb it kicks in. Your TCS is only kicking in because a tire is slipping on the snow.

I know, I just don't want it kicking in all the time, haha.

Woke up to about 6-8" of snow this morning. Not terrible by any means but the 20 mile commute on the highway at 30mph was annoying. The kicker was the 2' snow drift the plows left in the intersection right before my office that I hit at 40mph in 2WD. Sent the snow over the passenger's side fender. I would've avoided it if I could've seen anything.

I was a little disappointed when I went to leave my driveway and got stopped in 2WD. I put it in 4WD and still didn't move until I pressed the skinny pedal a bit to make the TCS go nuts but it got me out.

Where are you at, 12KK? That photo looks like winter in New Hampshire! (but of course it could be Georgia these days.)

That's a shot from I89 in Berlin, VT. That's my work exit.

Edit- turns out that image is constantly changing. I figured it was a static address for that particular picture, not the feed itself. It doesn't look half as bad now as it did this morning!

So I actually have a "weekend" this week. Off tomorrow 8)

I've been working Commack's Outback for the weekend. Apparently they had a few people quit and are understaffed so I did the favor to help out. It's different being at another store. And there are some cuties there  It's nice not having to close, run the board, or do side work. AND I get a free dinner and they give some gas money. $10 for the 2 days didn't cover it though lmao. The manager is really cool though. Definitely one of my favorites that I have worked with.

USA vs Russia hockey game was nuts! I don't think it could have played out any better (ending with a shootout!).

Now I'm off to go pick up spark plugs and change them out.
