Good Monday morning Lost Jeepers.

A bit cooler this morning but a nice day nun the less.

A frosty 19 degrees here down in KS. Went to check the weather to see if I wanted to run this morning or afternoon.... Yep that decided things for me real quick!

I hear ya, only 25 here right now, suppose to hit mid 40's.

Good Morning. It is cooler here today high in the low 60s. Should be cooler the rest of the week too.

Good morning. Time for a coffee date with the ol' lady.
I've got the day off today, so might try to tackle some small stuff on the Lib.
Insulated the battery yesterday, since the factory insulation fell off months ago.

Gageraid what did you end up using to replace the battery blanket? Any luck with finding a decent material?

I forget what it's made of, but nothing fancy. Regular looking yellow insulation 3/4 inch thick.
Not even sure if this is sufficient or not, but it definitely is thicker than the stock one.
Really been looking for ways to use less gas upon cold startup cycles since I do a lot of them. Maybe something like this will help, maybe not.

Just need to do the Prius mode mod. It's simply really, just costs a little bit of your dignity and self respect.

Lol never. You would think a Prius owner would be a very smart driver, but I've seen maybe one that I've felt were on the same hypermiling scale I was. I see Prius owners slamming on their brakes, driving in the fast lane, and texting/talking on the phone as much as I see every other horrible driver in Jersey.
I'd much rather be behind a tractor trailer on any road versus a Prius. At least truck drivers understand the importance of top gear.

By the way Gageraid if you're looking for a way to reduce the impact of cold starts, I'd invest in a block heater and run synthetic oil (personal opinion..found it to be a little easer to start up during the winters than Dino oil). Living up in the Dakota's the jeep didn't like the cold all that much and running a block heater helped out a lot...then I wised up and bought a house with a heated garage.

Yes, the block heater is on the list for next Winter most likely.
It'd be nice to stumble upon a new idea that would improve the efficiency and overall performance of these vehicles, but it seems they've already been figured out for the most part. I'll keep waiting, though. Someone is bound to find something new... I hope.

When the warm months come again, I will try the Premium fuel tuning on my Hypertech to see if it effects my mileage. I haven't found much information on 3.7L's tuned for premium fuel.

Good Morning Lost Jeepers. I've come to the conclusion that this forum is by far the best Jeep forum around. A lot better than the one called JF.

Too many people with big egos on the other vehicle pages.

The cold is do able but add the wind and it's horrible. Yesterday was 15-17 but wind chill was about 1*. More negative temps coming. It's never ending. I was able to get a load of wood. I'd hoped it would be all I needed. We had some normal days, I convinced myself the worst was over.
I'm now trying to get another load, of wood.

I'm spending the day in bed....with my dog. I came down with something Sunday night, forced my way through the school day(had to take a math test :banghead: ) and thankfully have off today. Hopefully I'll feel better by tomorrow or Thursday.

To be honest, most active members, myself included, are on both sites.
Not too much difference between the two, maybe Lost stays on topic slightly more and we've even got the Random thread. :pepper:
