A huge thanks to Toy, Nick, & Yeti for all of their help in figuring all of this out. I loaded the mod file this evening with EGR & FCV unplugged and MAF plugged in, started motor and wallah, no DAT's errors, or CEL's. Motor ran great and had more power on the top end at cruising speed. This is Great Stuff!!!

Completely ready for the FCV delete kit now... :-)r
We are on the right track!!!! :BINGO:

I have the 7 volt GP's. I would be very cautious with the GP pulse and duration time. If they are too hot for too long even the steel ones can break or fail and fall into the motor.

Also, WWdiesel has the 811 software...

Thanks,

Nick

Question for you guys.
If I have someone else's map file, does the checksum(s) match his ecu only?

I can see if you put your original map in the software, make some changes, calculate the final checksum and reload - good to go.
But if you have someone else's map, does it contain information particular to his vehicle id?

checksum calculation, you need to close the file so that the changes are accepted by the unit, read the map with our tools is not a complete file and can not upload other versions other than your own, the only way to load other software is open the unit, and you have to use other tools, the software must be compatible with the hardware version

I copied my OEM file, it was modified and reloaded. It has been modified twice now and may get more mods going forward. I always keep a copy of each file before mod and reloading... :)

So tunes ARE vehicle specific and so for early research, we should modify oem.
Thank you guys.

The tunes are specific to the software version. I have 811, I have loaded my "performance & delete tune" on 3 different vehicles without changing a thing.

First step, read and save a copy of your original file. Put it on a CD or USB drive so it can't get lost in case you ever have to go back to stock for some reason. Next step, you have some choices. You can mod your own file as you see fit and checksum correct it, or you can load an another matching software (i.e. 811) file that is already been tuned and checksum verified.

If you have ECM, they have the EDC16 already as a driver for checksum correction. You can also compare tunes in ECM to see what changes have been made to the maps and code.

So tunes are NOT specific to each ecu, only version specific.
I need 808.

Although I am still waiting on my flasher to come, I started a DIY in the TECH section:

viewtopic.php?f=98&t=78418&p=824347#p824347

If people want to join they could order a flasher now.

I will add to it as I go. Let me know if I should change anything.

Not yet.
I just started the DIY (Do It Yourself) so that people would have information should they want to join. Also they could start by ordering the programmer.

Version 1.01 tuning file downloads for 2005, 2006 and 2007 are now available in the CRD TECH ONLY section.

Does anyone know if you can datalog on these jeeps with a vag-com cable and VCDS. I thought I recalled a thread somewhere saying it uses the same interface as VW's and that it would work. Real time data logging would be great for this.

Yeti, I see from your files that you found a solution to how to fix this.
Where did you get this fix because I think that there is a small error.

The first and third table is the original and the second and fourth is the mod.
I believe that the red circles should stay as 3600.
