Tommudd's 3.5'' Econo Lift

Hey everyone i'm new to the forum and have been searching endlessly with regards to lifting up my 2008 liberty. I've been stuck on the Tommudd's econo lift (3.5) and i have heard alot of good things about it, seems worth the extra (few hundred) for two inches versus the OME/Blistein lift. Is there anything i should add to the kit? i will be adding bump stops, but is it recommended to upgrade the sway bar links? or is stock fine for this size. If anyone has this lift can you please let me know how it's been for you, and if you have any recommendations. Would love seeing anyones lifted KK's with the kit on!

I am not looking to do any heavy off-roading, just want some extra height with meaner tires.

I went the OME/Bilstein route for the 3.5" lift. Basically the same as Tom's. He uses Ironman front springs and shocks with JBA 4" rear springs and Ironman shocks. On the other hand I use OME springs and Bilstein shocks with the extra rear isolators for the added height in the rear.

With that said, of course bumpstops which you're taking care of. And 4" rear swaybar links. They're optional. I don't have them(thinking about upgrading though). lfhoward has them(4" kit, but same 4" rear springs) and said they changed the ride. Up to you mostly.

Bumpstops is all you need to add,
I would recommend installing the longer rear sway bar links after installing them on lfhowards. I couldn't believe the difference in the way they looked compared to stock and then after he reported back on how much better it rode, I'd say yes include them.

Seen as this is the topic of discussion what do you need besides lift spring when running a 4 inch lift

If you want a full 4 inches of lift I would highly suggest going with the adjustable coilover kit with the UCAs etc, other wise you will have spring/ UCA contact
Other wise you can get 3.5 inches with springs/ top plate/clevis and UCAs etc

Whata etc ik ucas springs bump stops but what about track bars in the rear and sway link ends I found sways cheap so what is everything in a list

I still get some contact on my driver's side with 3.5". I think I can clock the springs a tad to fix it...but I've been too lazy and just haven't had time.

I think he's asking what's in the kit.

Basically this:
Front:
Adjust a struts, bumpstops and a arms(optional front swaybar disconnects)

Rear:
Springs, shocks, bumpstops, sway bar links, and track bar

Brake lines might also be optional, most likely highly recommended.

The front adjust a struts are the biggest expense. 1500 for the set with a-arms coming up next.

If you take the time to read different parts are listed as to what you need, also if you get on the JBA site for say example the adjustable coilovers its there in a list makes ordering very simple.
If you want to go with OME or Ironman again simple to order what you need depending on what height you want to go to.
First thing(s) to know is what is your budget and what height do you want out of a lift. Suggestions can then be made as to what will work the best.
One reason the TM Econo kit was put together was the fact so many kept asking what all they needed to get a 3.5 inch lift and the most cost effective approach to get there.

Hey Bryfry21, here's a pic of my KK with the TM/Econo lift to give you an idea of how they can end up looking (hopefully this works):

TM/Econo lift with the recommended f/r bumpstops; BFG AT/KO 245/75/16 on the stock rims; the 3/8 clevis leaves a positive front rake (I'll likely level out the front); standard weight springs. Haven't noticed any significant change in fuel consumption.

As far as issues, I've had this annoying driver's side clicking noise when I lock the steering wheel counterclockwise turning under load (up acute bend inclines). Haven't figured it out yet (there's another thread on this).

I did install the extended sway bar links and rear track bar - I like the handling better. It feels abit more supple and nimble when maneuvering around turns and bends (independent of that clicking noise).

Overall, I'm happy with the kit; for my use (fire trails, city to trailhead, off-highway; no bogging or rock crawling) it's perfect (plus it's a subtle lift that doesn't scream "jacked up"). I like the extra clearance over the standard 2" inch lift, but didn't need the full capacity (or expense) of the 4" coilover.
