I'm not sure of where to start (fuel injectors, motor mounts). Live Chicago and it's been a long cold winter.
My Liberty CRD has only 50K miles and it's a 2006.

When driving everything is great and when idling in park all is well. However, when slowing down coming to a stop light intermittently the car will make shuttering and vibration as is it's out of balance and then it straightens right out (lasts of about 2 or 3 seconds) around 5 mph. It feels as of it's starving for fuel but maybe not. It also does it while sitting at the stop light with my foot on the brake. One minute its fine and then ruff shake with a broken motor mount feel and added squirrely noise.

Any ideas?

First 2 things I'd check are 1) air in the fuel-bleed the fuel filter head and 2) level of you transmission fluid. stoutdog's 06 had a bit of a stutter and slight fluctuation in RPM when coming to a stop. Checked the tranny fluid which was low, added a bit less than a quart; problem went away.

Is there a way to purge out the air if in fact scenario 1 is the case?

Sounds to me like your torque converter is having a little trouble unlocking when your coming to a stop. Try putting it in neutral when you are at about 20mph and rolling into a stop sign. If problem goes away, you have a bad transmission filter, front pump or a torque converter on the way out.
