My girlfriend is smarter than that. When she complains about me spending money I just look at her and remind her to look at the jewelry she's wearing. When I go shopping I don't see prices. I see what I like and go from there. I pay for everything and I don't skimp out on her presents, so I think I'm doing alright lol

Well I didn't really buy jewelry just to justify the costs of my hobbies. When we first got engaged, I was still in college, and bought the best ring I could afford at that time. I always promised her I'd get a better one someday, and this year I finally fulfilled that promise (8 years later). My wife doesn't always want much, but when she does, I have a tendancy to spoil her... She spoils me too though, so it works out.

Well she doesn't exactly need jewelry. She gets a pot or pan for every tire. Got a lift kit? Well she can have a new rug or coffee table for the living room lol

I'm holding off til after college to propose. I'm hoping to have a career and some money away for a house before I get married, but the Jeep seems to take a lot of that money...

Having money in the bank and owning a home does not make for a happy marriage.
It seems so many younger people put things like that ahead of true love and happiness. What they end up doing is chasing after the perfect job and that big house and lose sight of what is really important. I know of lots of people who have neither and are 1000s times happier than so called rich folks.

Didn't know where to post this: Facts and Figures on the new 2015 Jeep Renegade.

Fast Facts:

New compact SUV sold globally
Gasoline or diesel 4-cylinder engine
Available 9-speed automatic transmission
Choice between two 4WD systems
Available Selec-Terrain technology
Trail Rated 4WD capability in Trailhawk model
Numerous infotainment and safety systems
Built in Italy
Introduction

Jeep says that it seeks "youthful and adventurous customers" with the new 2015 Renegade, a compact SUV that will be available to buyers around the world. Designed in the United States and built in Italy, the new Jeep Renegade is expected to arrive in the fall of 2015.

Exterior Features

Signature round headlights, a 7-slot grille, and trapezoidal wheel arches instantly identify the new 2015 Renegade as a Jeep. The Renegade Trailhawk sits higher, provides greater ground clearance, and gets revised front and rear styling in order to improve approach and departure angles--features off-roaders will appreciate. Observers can identify the Renegade Trailhawk by its red front tow hooks and unique 17-inch aluminum wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires.

Interior Features

"Rugged and functional," according to Jeep, the new Renegade's interior is crafted with what the automaker characterizes as "high-quality materials" and "inspired colors." A passenger grab handle is present on the dashboard, and the front passenger's seat folds forward in order to maximize cargo-carrying capability. The driver grips a thick-rimmed steering wheel.

Optional Features

The 2015 Jeep Renegade can be optioned with numerous upgrades. Highlights include a leather-wrapped steering wheel, leather seats, color-coordinated interior accent trim, and a 7-inch information display in the vehicle's gauge cluster. Two different MySky sunroof options are available in the form of a manual canvas or dual-panel power glass opening. Jeep also offers its Uconnect Access system for the Renegade, featuring 911 Connect, text-messaging capability, an Assist button to summon roadside assistance, and more.

Under the Hood

A 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine is standard for the 2015 Jeep Renegade. This is the same engine that is included in the larger Jeep Cherokee, where it is rated to make 184 horsepower and 171 lb.-ft. of torque. Jeep confirms that a 9-speed automatic transmission can be installed in the new Renegade, but does not state whether it is standard or optional equipment.

Jeep does confirm that it will offer a 2.0-liter diesel engine in the 2015 Renegade, that the diesel engine will be available with the 9-speed automatic, and that it will be able to tow up to 3,300 lbs. With either engine, the transmission offers manual gear selection by pushing up on the shifter to execute a downshift, and by pushing down on the shifter to execute an upshift.

Jeep Renegade buyers will be able to choose between an Active Drive 4-wheel-drive (4WD) system and an Active Drive Low 4WD system that features a 20:1 crawl ratio. Both 4WD systems include Selec-Terrain technology with Auto, Snow, Sand and Mud, and Rock settings, and can deliver up to 100% of engine torque to a single wheel. To improve fuel economy when a Renegade isn't off-roading, a rear-axle disconnect system reduces friction in the drivetrain.

A 4-wheel independent suspension is standard for the Renegade, and offers up to 8.1 in. of wheel articulation. Jeep uses Koni frequency damping front and rear struts for the suspension, and the Renegade Trailhawk model rides higher and delivers 8.7 in. of ground clearance in combination with greater approach, breakover, and departure angles, according to the automaker.

Thanks to these upgrades, Jeep says the Renegade Trailhawk model provides best-in-class off-road capability. Jeep Active Drive Low is standard for this version of the SUV, which rides on 17-in. aluminum wheels with all-terrain tires, gets a set of skid plates, can ford 19 in. of standing water, and includes standard hill-descent control technology.

Safety

In addition to 7 standard air bags, the 2015 Renegade is available with several safety-related technologies including Forward Collision Warning Plus, LaneSense Departure Warning Plus, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-path detection, and a reversing camera.

Technology

Two different Uconnect infotainment systems are available for the 2015 Renegade, ranging in screen size from 5 in. to 6.5 in. The larger version can be equipped with Uconnect Access, a subscription-based upgrade that provides access to text messages and can read them to the driver over the stereo speakers. This system also includes a 911 Connect button to summon rescuers in an emergency, and provides the ability to contact roadside assistance for help when needed.

I couldn't agree more... When it's right, nothing else matters. I wasn't planning on getting married while still in college, but it happened, and I wouldn't change a thing. 8 years of marriage, and 3 kids later, I still don't own a home... We have been saving together though, and we are just about in the right position to start going through the process.

Is this the 2015 Renegade? If so... no thanks... I think it looks like a Nissan Cube, and find it horribly ugly.

Make it soon, nothing like being married, everyone should do it at least once or twice. Plus no matter what women say, they have an internal clock ticking away.........

I'm practically married as is. I can't tell you the last time I had the bed to myself. I have a queen size bed, yet I'll be lucky if I'm completely on it when sideways. If I go somewhere, more than likely the ball and chain comes. Only good thing is she's my best friend too.

We should be out by next spring. She's on track, but I might need an extra semester or 2 because of my school's requirements. Then it's on to doing god knows what.

It gets even more fun trying to find a spot to sleep once you add kids to that equation. There's nothing like having 3 kids take over your bed in the middle of the night because they are sick or had a nightmare and force you to sleep on the couch, or worse yet the floor (it's happened).

At half a tank right now. Will soon have 1 logged fillup with the new tires.
I was getting 295-320ish miles per tank in the winter with just city driving with stock tires.
So far it doesn't look like it will be a drastic change. I need at least 3 fillups to have accurate data.

I filled up my tank tonight...maybe I'll keep track of this 1. I've been lazy lately and just throwing $20s into it.

Also putting my new list of parts together for the Jeep. Thinking JBA extended rear sway bar links, the 4" lift Bilsteins from Jeepin by Al, ordering a Mopar hitch from where ever is cheapest(so far I think it's Amazon lol), maybe a new exhaust(not sure yet...), and probably some more that I'm forgetting about who knows. Oh, also looking into regearing. Price is scaring me, as is not knowing jack about it. I'm thinking 4.10s and Detroit Trutracs front and rear. I have no "need" for full on lockers. They'll be nice, but price is high, and I think the DTTs with the tcs will work well enough. Don't know which brand to look into, do I need a master install kit etc?

Oh and aside from my Jeep bug itching....I kinda want to tear into the girlfriend's Chrysler 200 Convertible. She needs better interior lights since the only lights are map lights in the mirror. They suck, so we're gonna put LEDs in the foot wells as well. Might convince her into an exhaust on that, and I REALLY want to lower it an inch. The car sits high, and I want her to be able to drive it normally, still handle snow well, and ride well. If I do more than an inch I think I'll lose that, plus the inch would just give a better stance. Problem is, it's harder to find stuff for that car than it is our Jeeps lol. From what I've rear a lot of the lowered ones are completely custom and a lot of "built" at home stuff. Some guys cut their springs, and I'm all for that if it works for you, but I know that kills the ride and am not doing that to my girlfriend. If I'm gonna do something, it's gonna be done right.

For the MOPAR hitch call your local dealer tell them your Amazon price and see if the can match it. Remember if shipping cost aren't included in price it might be cheaper from the dealer- no shipping costs.

Be careful who you take it to for the gear job as there are a lot if shops that don't do it right and will stand behind a poor job. There's a local transmission shop here that does gears but I mistakenly chose a national company that has "gear specialists". It's difficult to get then to redo a job so it would be best to be selective and have it done right.
Detroit Trutracs work VERY well with our traction control system, I think we're set up the same as a JK with the electronics. A Detroit locker rear and trutrac front is a good combination but your driving style will have to change a little. 4.10 gears are good for 31" tires, if you plan to go bigger, look at 4.56's. The front takes the same gears as a JK does, you won't find them listed for the KK, if you do their probably for a KJ and won't work. We have high pinion reverse cut gears in the front. I've got 245/75-16 tires and plan to put on 31's this summer. My performance is a little better than stock and this thing is a beast off road.
JBA adjust a strut is definatly the way to go bu it's pricy. If you have a couple more grand to throw at it there's a company making CV's that claims 11" of travel. They sell the ones for the KJ on JBA's site, just google the brand and you should be able to find them.
Hope this helps you find what you're looking for.
