We just had a public holiday on friday making it a 3 day weekend. Friday morning out of nowhere the TANK decides not to start. Not turning over, just solenoid clicking. Teated the batery and it tested fine. Took the tweeny for the camping trip. The landrover guys enjoyed that.
Came today and i replaced the starter motor. This happened before and i bought a starter motor.
Adter putting the starter motor, same solenoid noise, no turn over.
Tested the batery- less than 7 v.

Charged the batery and it started. Idle for about 10 seconds and cut out.

I bled the diesel filter from a lot of air and now it doesnt start. Again. Solenoid clicking but no turn over.

Can it be hydro locked from too much oil? Its a bit high but it was running on thursday.
Torque converter faulty?

It turns by hand.

All help would highly be appreciated

Let's try to break this into pieces:
1. ABS light on and odometer not counting is typically a failed wheel speed sensor or a wire break related to those sensors. 05s have sensors on both front wheels and a single on in the back, IIRC, on top if the differential. It's not uncommon for the wires to that back on to break inside the insulation.
2. key trick works but is known to reverse the last 2 digits of the code. In your case the 1st 3 codes don't appear to be valid unless you reverse the last 2 digits. P0299 is, of course, valid. That said none of them seem to me to be related to anything that would cause a solenoid click no turn over condition. FYI go to Sir Sam's NOOB guide and scroll down for the links to the factory service manuals; get a copy of the 06 FSM which has the diagnostic codes as the 05 FSM lacks them.
3. you reference a battery condition of "less than 7v" followed by a charge and then a successful crank and a brief run of the engine then shut down (not key off). Like all modern vehicles the CRD is heavily dependent on exceptionally good battery condition to do anything. If the battery is the least bit bad or the terminal cables are not making good contact or the ground cables don't have a good ground then the onboard computers won't let the vehicle start/turn over. I'd check the condition of your cables and grounds and at least temporarily install a known good battery (size and CCA are not all that important as this is just to test to see if providing good solid 12+v current will spin the starter). I'd also look at the output of your alternator as insufficient output can deplete/kill a battery.

If 3 gets you running again see if those codes clear after 2-5 drive cycles as they could be bogus codes related to a battery issue.

Turns out to be the batery. It was not holding full current. It could start once but did no have enough for a second start.
The enine dying after the first start was due to air in the diesel system. After I bled the air out a the filter, it was purged and could hold idle.

Batery was tested against holding 345A. It only had 220A stored after 12 hours charge.
So i probably replaced the starter unnecassarily
