Good Morning,
I've got an 06 Liberty CRD, 120k+ miles, GDE Eco Tune, recently replaced torque converter.
Tuesday the Jeep lost power in a big way. On flat roads it could get up to speed, albeit lazily. Up any kind of incline and it's a losing battle.
The exhaust is a bit smokey, white smoke.

I dropped it off at a mechanic. They suspected turbo or boost hoses, but they've gotten into those and all the hoses look ok, and the turbo is spinning away as it should.

They suspect the exhaust could be plugged up, or maybe a fuel problem.

Any thoughts from the collective mind share here?

get the fault codes scanned and measure the MAF sensor at idle. This data would be very helpful to better understand the issue. Check the coolant level and see if any fluid has been in the overflow reservoir.

Mechanic just called and they found a hose between the intercooler and turbo had blown.
Guess that's my smoking gun.

That's it. Just for future reference the next most simple alternative to look at is a boost pressure solenoid failure which can be quite sudden and is easily diagnosed by bypassing the solenoid per viewtopic.php?f=5&t=70602&p=757348&hilit=boost+solenoid#p757348

If you can, Samco boost hoses are a nice addition and are much higher quility than the OEM hoses... :JEEPIN:
