I have been quoted for both tires from the cheapest place in town for 245/75 on 16's. Here are the results...

Firestone at's - $100.00

Revo's - $127.00

both prices include mounting, balancing, and installation...

So i figure total price for 5 tires is:

Firestones - $500
Revo's - $635

So the big question, are the revo's worth the extra 135 dollars?

So here is a really dumb question WHY are they better, I can not see a big difference except for tread pattern. Why spend the extra 135 or whatever. I was in the tire business for over 7 years and have a cousin whos been in it since 1970. I asked him before I got the firestones and his remark was "buy the Revos I will make more off of you that way!"

So someone tell me how I messed up by buying the Firestones??
Plus just want to get something started here!

Even the 245/70's will rub when stuffed with a 2" lift, they just won't bind.

I think the question was about performance
on pavement - both same-
on the trails - both the same.....
I got the revo's, pixeldzn is got the destinations
I've seen what he could do with those destinations on the trail and he did everything I did on my revos.
It goes the other way around too....
I would have gone with the destinations - just a good deal on the revos got me to get them.

I don't think so. Both makes are round & black with similar compounds and casing technology. I can get a deal/steal on either brand through the bus company where I work part time. Intend to get the Firestones. It's more of a question to keep the factory size 225/75's or go to the 245/70's? Not lifting mine and have the extra front end weight of the diesel.

I would say don't stick with the 225/75R16s, they are just too narrow. If you're worried about the 245/70R16s not fitting, go with a 235/70R16. the 235/70 is the stock size for the renegade and is approximately the same height as the 225/75, but 10mm wider. Now that I think about it, it's only 10mm (0.3").....

245/70-16 will fit in a non lifted KJ with no problem - Destinations or Revos...

I get a little rub right at the driving light doors but nothing serious. Just keeps the plastic shiny in a couple of spots. I would go with the 245 70s in a heart beat again, now after I try and install my lift hopefully this weekend they may look a little funny but...Oh well

I have a feeling Jeep went with the 225/75R16 (over the 235/70) was the "extra load" weight rating. 245/70's have the same weight rating. The CRD is bigtime front end heavy. Those garbage Goodyears are more flimsy sidewall then treadface, turn to mush under the weight. Already running the fronts at 38psi or they look and feel soft. Lifted the front end on a 12 ton floor jack the other day, could definately feel the weight in the jackhandle. All that front end weight goes like hell in deep snow!

Do your Destination AT's make much noise on dry roads? It's a toss-up for me between the AT's & LE's. Run entirely highway, don't play in the mud but bought the Jeep to go through snow and icy expressways (75% winter use). I have an Impala for fair weather driving.

I love my Destinations so far- I usually take them off and put offroad tires on when I go off road, but I've used them a couple times on rock/dirt, and they've been great so far.

I like the Destinations ATs, they are quiet on the road, do fairly well off road what I have had it, no they are not a MUD tire but all around driving they do good. So much better than the stockers of course that does not take much to be better than them I have mine mounted black out and it looks good

Since both tires are made by the same company this is almost like arguing if a Ford is better than a Mercury. Only the engineeres who made the tire will be able to tell you the truth. The Duelers seem to me to be a more agressive off-road tire and have a more advanced compound over the Firestones. They also have a slightly higher Uniform Tire Quality Grade Standards

The main reasons that I ended up with The Destination ATs was , 1) was price, the other was when I got them it seemed like everyone on here was going for the Revos so....I had to be different!
