In the long run you may have to add some coolant UV dye, rinse the engine, drive for a week or 2, and look for the leak with a UV light but before that here are some thoughts: 1. the tstat is held in place to the block by 2 rear and 1 front bolt (IIRC all same size head but maybe some different lengths) not counting the top bracket one. Back lower bolt is hard to get to and hence easy to strip in which case tstat to head gasket will leak; best get in there with an appropriate size 1/4" socket, a 6"+ 1/4" drive wobble extension, and a 1/4" drive socket wrench and just barely twick that bolt enough to make sure it's not stripped. 2. right angle port goes to overflow tank, horizontal black plastic port goes to viscous heater and then heater core, and horizontal aluminum port goes to the radiator bypass. OEM spring loaded clamps are tension rated and can easily fail to seal if a) tensions get mixed up, b) they are only good for 1 use after original install at best, and c) if they, like any clamp, get seated on instead of behind the bulge in the fitting. 3. might also leak at the tstat temp probe on the back side if threads not sealed. 4. if the replacement tstat was a Crown brand they are known for lacking sealant on both of the plastic ports and will leak there.
