So I won $180 thanks to the Kentucky Derby today. What should I do with it? I'm torn between saving it(remember, I did just drop $500 on a JBA lift), Jeep parts or something else. Part of me wants to save it for when I turn 21 on the 24th and have more beer money, another wants to be responsible and save it, another kinda wants a CB....idk anymore.

Save it for your birthday. You can easily spend that much on a good night at the bars.

Been using the KK lately to haul my mountain bike to the trails. Will do it again tomorrow morning as long as it's not raining.

Ok, I have the most random thread of the day.

Last night at about 1 AM somebody thought it would be a good idea to douse a Nissan Armada with gasoline and light it up. This was parked in the trees down the hill behind my house! Luckily we had just gotten a bunch of rain, or the woods would have caught on fire and it would have spread up the hill threatening the row houses. As it was, it was a tremendously hot fire from the vehicle itself, belching murky black smoke! We woke up because the horn continuously sounded in the burning vehicle, for about 10 minutes until it died. We called 9-1-1 and the police and fire company came to investigate and extinguish the blaze. The SUV looks like a late 19th century galvanized pail this morning, with all of the paint burnt off. Luckily no police tape down there at the scene this morning, which makes me think that nobody was trying to dispose of a dead body and the fire must have just been set for thrills.

Could be an insurance claim or an angry ex girlfriend. I've seen a similar situation with a stolen car when I volunteered with the EMS. The stench was terrible due to the different materials melting.

I was thinking that, but I've never spent that much yet. I know quite a few bartenders from going out with friends and co-workers. No matter how much I drink they hook me up. I might just save it til I go to Atlantic City in the beginning of June. If I don't piss it away there I think a CB might be in my future.

So it was lit on fire in the woods? What a waste of a V8.

Gonna use the Jeep to carry my bike to the trails in the morning.
On another note. My step-brother's girlfriend's mom has a KK and just got the issue with the gate saying it's open when it's not. Told her to take it to the dealer. I forget what the issue is with that. Weatherstripping?

It sucks, but real life expenses are getting in the way. Unfortunately, those win out over the tires. It's too bad because I really like them.

Vehicle fires are always fun, especially when things start to pop and explode. :? It's always interesting to see how fast they burn.

You've never spent that cause your not legal yet lol. I just had a bachelor party for my bro who's getting married. Easily spent $100 on drinks and food in a night. Went and had a few drinks at a brewery too.

Depending on where you go and what you drink. Liquor drinks add up quickly.

Just had a "life event" occur in my family. Funds will be tight for the immediate future. At least I got my fun out of the way first before it happened.

On a good note I filled up my KK this morning and got 17.4 MPG. Best in a long time.

I'll probably have to fill mine tonight. I'll be curious to see what the mileage is. A miracle of getting back close to 19 would make me keep the tires on but I don't foresee that happening. I'm taking a 4 hour road trip this weekend so I'm also debating throwing the air dam back on, just for kicks. When I made a trip to Cape Cod with everything being stock, I saw 21mpg.

Dropped the KK off this morning for the tire swap. I also filled it last night and got 16.8mpg. That's a minor increase from my last fill up on 4/25 at 16.5mpg and about a 1mpg increase from my 4/22 fill up at 15.75mpg.

Youl'll have to let us know how much your milage improves with the OEM tires back on. I have thought it would be good to have a second set of rims for street tires, so I could easily swap back and forth. Except the Duratracs look so awesome... My other option is to eventually save up for a regear. With the engine issues I had to fix last week, that may be a while!

I certainly will. I had a hard time making the decision to take the DuraTracs off just because they're such a great tire. I've thought about a second set of wheels, too, so the swap would be cheap and easy. We'll see how things go. I'll probably have to fill up before my road trip Saturday, so I'll see if there's any improvement between now and then. Fingers crossed!

Even on the short drive from the tire shop to my office, I already missed the hum of the tires. But the ride was significantly softer

I want to regear as well. My problem is that I might go up to 265/75-16s. I think they'd fit, especially after the JBA lift gets installed. If I go 265s I'm going 4.56s, if I stay with the 245s I'm going 4.10s. I might need to borrow someone's 265s to test fit them. Any volunteers?

Saw a silver KK Renegade getting gas as I drove past him. Made sure to honk and wave like an idiot to get his attention. :-)r
