As a point of reference, I recently changed my transmission fluid and filter. I discovered that the AutoZone TF349 filter kit is not compatible with the 545RFE four wheel drive transmission. The AutoZone parts lists it as correct.

However, after changing the fluid and filter the tranny began to act differently. It wouldn't shift properly. It took several seconds to engage when cold. After driving for several days I decided to order the Mopar filters. In the Mopar flat filter box came a photo of the two different filters for the Jeep 545FRE. The AutoZone filter was actually a two wheel drive filter instead of a four wheel drive. The main difference is the length of the pickup tube. The two wheel is about one inch shorter than the four wheel. This causes the transmission to starve for fluid.

Good to know. I got my kit from napa and had no issues. Cheaper than oem and likely the same mfr.

Actually no.The OEM filter kit comes with the updated cooler filter(spin on filter) that is not offered in any other 45RFE/545RFE filter kits.

Which is probably what NAPA uses, their gold and platinum oil filters are WIX.

I would not buy a filter or any other vehicle part from China-Zone.

Wow that's real high.Last trans service I did on my KJ was a flush and both new filters(I have the 45RFE,same filters as the 545RFE) and 24qts of Valvoline ATF+4 for $110.The filter kit was only $29 at the dealer for both filters. That was 6 months ago.

I was told by the local NAPA parts guy that the Jeep filters were NOT made by WIX for the Jeep 545RFE transmission application. Neither were the NAPA Gold, so buyer be aware!

Where did you get 24 qts of ATF for that price. The cheapest I can find is $89 for 12 gts($5.99/qt) at advance. The ATF is not eligible for discount codes so there is not way to get it cheaper.

EDIT: NVM i found out walmart has it for $4.27. Still a little more though
