Great pictures - you are my new hero! :D

By the way, are those the factory front tow hooks? I have a pair of receivers I bought to do the tow hook mod for my 2007. It looks like you have the cutouts on the plastic part in the same place as mine. I'm still having trouble deciding if that's the place I need to put them.

Thanks! :D

They are not the factory tow hooks. They are actually hitch draw bars mounted on their side where the tow hooks would go... I think on the previous page there is a pic from underneath my Jeep of what it looks like close up!

D'oh!

I thought your Jeep looked familiar - I actually have that post of yours bookmarked for when I do mine. (I should have said "draw bar" instead of receiver.) The only thing I wasn't sure about was where to cut out the plastic. I was going to do something different if they didn't line up with the rectangular areas already there.

How many holes did you have to drill underneath for each draw bar? I have a 3/8" drill but wasn't sure it would be up to the job. Any advice before I try and screw mine up?

No worries!

here is the write up I based my install off, I didn't do all of what he did but basic concept I also used class 3 draw bars not class 2 like this write up uses. http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=9316

And as for drilling, I used a drill press as the holes have to be pretty precise but it could be done with a hand drill, I would just use a center punch where you want to start drilling so the bit doesn't walk on you.

No holes are drilled on the Jeep they mount to where the factory tow hook would mount only drilling required is on the draw bar.

You have made my day! I actually bought the draw bars used from someone who bought an aftermarket bumper and didn't need them anymore. They came pre-drilled and even included the bolts. If it doesn't rain these might be on there very soon. Of course, we have rain in the forecast through Friday, so maybe I ought to be looking at a pontoon mod instead.
