Seth, I'm thinking it may be a good idea to link this post in general forum, this product is not restricted only to crd.

Good idea!

Would be interested, I think, but my yet to be installed GlowShift gauge is 2 3/8". Oh well. Nice idea though although I'm curious how the wiring is routed and what holds the gauge in the face plate.

I went with 2 1/16" size so that vent slots could be used, and because there seems to be a larger selection of gauges in that size.

The gauge is secured to the panel using the standard bracket included with your gauge. For example:

As far as wiring, it's really easy. Tapping into the stereo's harness and running the wire up under the vent "tube" like this (it's even easier in the center console location):

I am changing the group buy policy.

Instead of 20 units, I am reducing it to 5 units. Once 5 units have sold, production will begin.

Batch 1 is now in production and will ship in 1-2 weeks.

Change a vent for a gauge???? That is nuts even in mild climates. I know... it looks like you have a bit of airflow but still..... nuts. :5SHOTS: design looks good though.

Unless you're super hot and want the cool max Ac air to blow on your face from both vents, I don't think will be such an issue. Winter not even an issue. For a while the left vent only blows on the left window in my crd. A matter of preference I guess...

To revive the thread, the gauge panels I ordered came today and they are of EXCELLENT quality, imo a very good bang for the buck! I can barely wait to add the oil temp and oil pressure in them.

Thanks, T-rex, glad you are satisfied with them!

The panel will accept any 2 1/16" size gauge. I have access to Auto Meter's line-up, e-mail me for a price quote.

I only have one panel in stock right now. I can have the next batch ready in 1-2 weeks.

Couple pics regarding installation process, which is trivial :

Using a dremel, i made 1 hole in each heating tube to allow the wires to pass through. In lack of dremel, you may use a drill on low speed or just a flat screwdriver to punch a hole in the plastic.

Overall, very nice "invention", I highly recommend those gauge pods to anybody that needs adding any gauge to the jeep. They are made of very high quality aluminum and are easy to install. Since the socket of the vent has different widths on the side ("hinges") , also the gauge pod has different gaps on the side brackets, make sure you position it right on the plastic vents/sockets and also seat the gauge in the pod properly, so it won't be upside down.
