I'm looking at replacing the u-joint(s) on my rear drive shaft after finding a torn boot on the t-case side of the front unit. It would be a form of preventative maintenance, as I figure after 100k miles, they're due to have problems soon.
My question is what type of joints are used? I know the front has two rzeppa cv's, but what type (or really size) are used in the rear. Everything I've read suggests a 1310 at both ends past the slip-joint and big flywheel thingy, but I also can't find authoritative confirmation that a 1310 is indeed what's used. Can anyone chime in based on experience? Also, are all models and driveline types the same (joints)? I mostly want to know on an 05 CRD with RFE545 and NV242
