Well, I think I experienced the first symptom of a transmission issue this morning. Got in the Jeep, started up, shifted to "R" and.....nothing. It just sits there. I let it run in park for another 30 seconds or so and then shifted again. Then it was fine. It was in the 40s this morning, so I figure it was the transmission fluid not moving very fast in addition to the "wrong filter" issue. Guess I better get in for a service visit. I'm sure I'll get the whole "we couldn't recreate the symptoms" scenario. Hopefully not.
Go here and print out each page of this:
http://www.alldata.com/tsb/Chrysler/114 ... index.htmlTake it to Westgate Chrysler Jeep in Plainfield and tell them exactly the symptoms you just described. Then show them this and tell them a fellow CRD owner had the same issue and it was fixed here at Westgate using this TSB (well, mine was earlier only one filter one, but still, this is the updated one and is much better). Get this done ASAP.
I will give them a try.
I'm used to throwing fits at dealerships. I've driven VWs for several year and they are the absolute worst when it comes to warranty/repair issues! You have to fight to get anything done.
I might wait a couple weeks before I try to take it in....I'll be out of school for summer break by then and can do without a car for a day or two.
I'll keep you posted.
Thanks for the link, alljeep.
