Most of the ones I have done haven't, but from what I understand, it is cheap anyway.

What you really need to have are the crush washers for the injectors, o-rings for same, and a shotgun bore cleaning kit (use the large mop softie) and an unlimited supply of Brake Cleaner. You cannot use too much. DROWN the mop in BC, and polish the injector bores and the seat at the bottom until they are shiny clean. Don't worry about any shmutz that washes into the cylinder, it will be vaporized on the first few combustions, and it is all soft anyway.

Thanks for the help. Placed order with ID Parts, It was Painful $1450.00 I went with the studs too even though funds are tight

Ordered TB Kit
Studs
Thermostat (Been bad for a while)
New Glow Plugs
Gasket
Injector Waster oring kits
FCV Gaskets

Also ordered new fan clutch from amazon Hayden I know mine is bad

All I need know is a new fuel head, Still have original.

And maybe a coolant sensor, My light flickers a lot but I'm not low on coolant.

Quick question I ordered two long studs to use as guides but does the miller 9599 have those in it?

Any advise for setting the cover back on correctly?

Thanks again

I don't know about the centering studs, I never used the Miller stuff. If you want to be easy with it, take one of the cover bolts (the 10mm head ones) and get a match at Home Depot, in about a 2.5 or 3 inch variety. Cut the head off, you want just the shaft. Thread it in to two of the injector holes, like cylinders 1 and 3. You want the valve cover to stay LEVEL as you are lowering it. It isn't easy. Where people mess up is going in with the cover just barely above the rockers, but too far forward. As they are leaning in to move it back, it ticks a rocker and knocks it off. Pain in the arse design.

Reading a lot about glow plugs seams as thought the 7v metal have a lot of failures have they changed them or is it better to go with the 5v conversion and flash?

Is the end all uniform in color - all dull and not shiny black? Crunch off a bit with some cutters and you will see what a fresh ceramic break looks like - if that is different than the existing tip, then yes, the damage is probably long gone.

The 7V plugs are much better, there have been some quality issues, HOWEVER the manufacturer and IDparts have been 100% awesome on replacing them for no cost.

All uniform in color black carbon color broke off another piece and it's more grey for fresh so I take it no need to worry the motor ate it some time earlier correct

I only had one bad cylinder 3 should I just replace them all or just the one

What's your thoughts ?

Yeah, the motor probably pulverized the rest long ago - there isn't really any way to know if it mushroomed off as little bits (would have been better) and got blown away that way, or got smashed to powder after coming off as a big piece. You would have to pull the entire head to look, and if you haven't lost a valve by now from it getting jammed in there... I wouldn't waste the brain power worrying about it.

As far as replacing them, they are a replace-as-needed component, HOWEVER the metal plugs don't mushroom and risk your engine when they die. They just code out and quit working. I'd pull the rest right now and go with the metal ones. Save these as spares, or someone on the forum may want them someday.

No the guide pins are not in the Miller kit. I have the entire kit. I went to the hardware store as well, picked up matching metric thread bolts and cut the heads off with a grinder to make mine.

Glad you got it figured out. I have had a lot of people turn down work from me because I urge them to replace the rockers with their timing belt service. Every US CRD needs the rockers/lifters replaced at 100k unless they are fortunate and have disabled the EGR early enough, or are just plain lucky. Every CRD that I have taken the cam cover off, had damaged rockers and or lifters. Some of them had no symptoms yet. Good luck with your project!! Lots of good people here to help you if you need. Hopefully your camshafts aren't damage, be sure to check that too!

Well whomever said rockers, you were correct

Tear down is complete 4 Broken and one completely seized (roller). $ or 5 loose and the rest look ok.

I will place an order with id parts Monday and get everything on the way

My miller 9599 does have the centering studs, but all they amount to, are a bolt with the head cut off and a screwdriver slot in the end.
Good luck with your repair.
