Weird and wonky, is what I'm calling this one. Well the jeep is running (2006 CRD) the interior dome lights from and back won't go out. Cant even manually turn off the front ones. But if the truck is off and sitting (doors closed) the lights will go off thus not killing my battier, which is good new. But why in the world are the staying on in the first place?

Look on your turn signal stalk. About 2" in from the end, you should see a bezel with a small tab on it that rotates. It's just inboard from the light switch. See if that does it for you.
