Has anyone put a switch by or on the dash somewhere to pop open the back glass.

Seems like it would be good to have when a non-jeep person is trying to load something in the back without opening the door.

I think the key fob works for that while its in the ignition?
Funny I don't I've ever tried it..

So I'm outside yesterday checking my tire pressure.
While letting some air out of one of the tires my (new) neighbor asked very cautiously from her front porch, "Is that YOUR car?"
Me - "Of course."
Guess she may have thought I was messing with someone else's vehicle?
Must be rare to see someone checking their tire pressure these days.
I should have played a joke on her and ran away at top speed.

Nope not mine, I was walking down the street and needed some air.

Random thoughts of the day:
I couldn't remember the last time I filled up so I checked my records.
September 1st, and I still have a good amount more than a quarter left. Pretty sure this is a record for myself for amount of days gone without filling up. :-)r
Also changed around my displays on my ScanGauge. Currently monitoring horsepower, throttle position, instant mpg, and average mpg.

Lol I have to fill up once a week at the minimum but I also drive 50 miles a day. I'm at roughly 15k miles a year.

Random thought.. Hmm..
My KK looks like it's going to eat my XJ. I had no idea the KK was so much bigger. I feel like I'm in a rally car when driving the XJ. I've also only put one tank of gas in it since I've owned it. It's only at half full now lol

It works, but I believe it has to be in Park, possibly neutral also works...can't recall.

Random:
- I'm 38 and in denial. 30 was nothing.
- I'm half Chinese, 1/4 Icelandic, 1/4 Brit. But 50% Vegan....50% redneck.
- I do international negotiations for the government.
- I play the following instruments quite well: guitar, piano, tuba, baritone
- I'm pretty badass with a Bobcat (skid-steer loader). Drove one for 4 years on a tree nursery.
- I raced mountain bikes on amateur circuits in Western Canada (mostly in the Cdn Rockies) for quite a few years in my teens/early 20s. I did XC and DH...it's not like now where everyone has to buy $8000 machines to make them fast. My DH bike has less than 3.5" of travel and ...disc brakes? Hadn't been used on bikes yet...for quite a few years. V-brakes? Those hadn't been invented either! I had good old caliper brakes.
- Worst bike accident I had: training run for the Canada Cup Finals in Whistler BC, I hit at least 97 kph (last time I looked) on a double track with fist-to-head sized rocks, hit a rut, caught air, didn't stick the landing...Luckily I ride well prepared and did not break anything. Couldn't breathe from the impact for almost 45 seconds. I placed 3rd in the race the next day winning myself a new set of kevlar panaracer tires (new model at the time).
- First car of my own: 1985 Nissan Micra ... raw, carbureted power from a massive 1.2L 4 cyl...62 hp hunk of crap! It was really good at doing multiple 360s on stretches of empty road though. From 60 kph. I was 19. And a thrill seeker.
- The most redeeming thing about that car was the stereo that I installed. Rockford amps, 2 sets of 5.25" Rockford and kicker separates with active crossovers, 2 JL Audio 12W6 in a massive ported box...
- Of course, given the last point, I also have hearing damage...nope not a joke... I have about 55% the hearing in my right ear. What this doesn't tell you is how much hearing I have compared to a normal person in my left ear.

Other cars of note:
1985 Ford conversion van - 351ci 32V Windsor - sounded awesome, it was quick for such a huge vehicle and only ~230 hp (3" dynomax exhaust, no cats). Best feature: fold down, red velour bed in the back with mood lighting (switched opera lights and a string light mounted behind a (red velour) valance where the ceiling/wall intersected). I drove this van in high school..........
1990 grand prix 3.1L V6 - they were supposed to be 140hp...yeah right, felt like a lot more than that. Fun car, but it had crappy suspension with too much float. Wrapped it around a light pole before I learned what lift-off oversteer is. Exactly 1 year later, I rear-ended someone that cut me off. My fault - I was going too fast, although I told everyone for many years that it was their fault. I should not have blamed the fellow. I paid a lot for insurance after that.
1992 Talon TSi AWD - quick, but lumbered through corners. best drag time was 13.0 at 100 mph I think? Next time out, knock killed her - I changed the profile of one of the pistons with a new breather hole. Or you might say that I killed her by ignoring the knock. And also due to (financial) neglect. A lot of the latter actually.
2002 WRX - fast in a straight line! Much faster than the Talon, but by this point I was making real money. It (I) was very hard on gas, tires and brakes. And transmissions. Sad panda. My most funnest car to date. And most hated.
1999 Miata - light and nimble, cheap to run, was never winter driven. Coilovers, tires and aggressive pads were all I did and it was a go kart. Cleanest (non-new) car that I ever owned. Sold it for financial reasons.

Had my final interview for my new job. I definitely have the job.
I should know this weekend exactly what day I start. Looks like Monday.
I'll be working for the same company, just non-union, different store, different department, and will finally be full time.

Thank you!
Bigger and better mods? I have them all! :ROTFL:
Seriously... not much else to do. I've been spending a bit too much time on hypermiling websites trying to find more ideas of what to do.
Also looks like these next few weeks everyone in the company will be finally receiving our back pay for the raise they owe us from a year ago...

A Jeep is never done! I've been looking at some builds on the WK forums. The mod, Omlet, on JF used to have a hidden winch behind his bumper. Literally cut out part of the crossmember, built a custom winch plate that reinforced and boxed the crossmember when he was done. I wonder if a winch would fit like on the WKs.

^^^^ The WK's and XK's are always a great spot to look for mods. I view that section on JF all the time.

I'm gonna start lurking there more. Omelet's build is insane. Both in length(150+ pages) and the build itself.

Yesterday was annoying. :banghead:
My girlfriend called and said her battery was dead in her Civic. I opened up the hood and she had really bad corrosion on her positive terminal.
First thought was I'd turn the key to the accessory setting and slip the tranny in neutral so I could jump it in the street. Apparently you can't do that with this car. I wonder if it works when the batter is in working order?
Anyways, I had to use the Libby and drive all over her neighbor's yard so I could jump start her. We took it for a drive to charge the battery, but it's shot. Tried to take the battery out to charge it at my house and the darn positive battery terminal nut/bolt is stripped!
What pissed me off even more that even with a dead battery her dome light would turn on when you opened the door, but the key fob wouldn't lock the doors. :furious:
So Honda thinks it's more important for you to see inside your vehicle than to lock your doors. Not a bad little car, but it sure does make me scratch my head at times.

I asked my girlfriend if she can make me a sticker for my Jeep.
It's going to be a silhouette of the KK from the side view.
Hopefully it will look as good as I imagine it will. :JEEPIN:

I literally just had this happen with my XJ. I left the hatch cracked and the battery was dead the next morning. Had to pull the KK in and jump it.

The new job is treating me well so far. It's weird being the one in training for once. Hopefully I become an expert at it like my last job.
Also, I haven't driven the Libby in two days!

So I test drove a 2005 LJ (TJ Unlimited) and a JKU over the weekend. I liked the TJ a lot but there is no way I could drive it every day. It reminded me of what a Jeep should feel like.

The JKU on the other hand was like a Cadillac compared to the TJ. It was a great riding vehicle and one day it will be mine!

In the mean time I still prefer my Liberty. It's got more getup thank either Wrangler and way more affordable.

Wait until you drive a 12+ JKU. That has some pep. One of these days.....

Yeah it was a 07 Sahara you have to mash on the pedal really hard. The TJ is the opposite real peppy.

So I got a promotion the other day. It's more of a side-motion. I'm the head host at Outback, and they're moving me into take away. It's the next step to becoming a server(I want that, that's where the money is), but it's hit or miss with tips. I'll make more hourly, but some nights I can make more than I would on the host stand, some I can make less.

Either way, I haven't been involved with our menu in a long time and I'm actually kinda nervous about starting my training for it. Especially with knowing the short hand for everything. :banghead: I've been studying the menu since Saturday(I only found out Friday night) and start my training today. It's gonna be a big change, and hopefully worth it.
