I wish it was a cnc plasma table!
I already have a Hypertherm Powermax 45 cutter though.

Know what it is?

Got assembly all finished and painted it. Also picked up a bunch of tube to work with. I only had time to do one test bend on 1.5x.120 with the 4.5 clr. There is a small amount of flattening because of the tighter radius but still a beautifully smooth bend. The air/hydro ram works awesome too, just flip a switch and off it goes.

Nice! You'll save a ton of money not having to buy prebent tube and it'll be stronger being one piece.

Looks awesome! So now that you can bend your own pipe, are sliders gonna be a possibility? You'll pretty much own the segment like your bumpers.

Long time no post due to being busy building the same bumpers- nothing too exciting...
I've been waiting for parts to come in from my cnc cutter for pending orders, which has given me time to get ahead on the other stuff and start developing the new ATH KK Rock Sliders...

Big box o' shackle mounts:
Image

Few sets of tube doors... I wasn't totally happy with the first design of the latching system, so an adjusted version is what will be available soon (waiting on those parts too)
Image

Round one prototypes for the KK rock sliders.. Adding the 'kick out' at the rear isn't anything new for sliders, but it's a first for Liberties! Those will also see some changes for the production version. I should have used 1"x1" box tube for the pinch weld mounts, and the main slider will be either 2x2x.188 box tube or 1.75x.120 round tube. Also the inner legs will be triangulated for better support.

Your rails look so much better than mine that tubing kick out is DEFINITELY different and pretty cool! Makes my "innovative" (quote from Tom) idea a rear decline ramp look silly haha. I agree with the 1"x1" box tube for the pinch weld mount, I'm pretty sure that's what most other rails are though. The legs definitely need more beef! Also...I kind of want a set of tube doors...

Thanks Nick, yours are looking good too!
I thought I could get away with using the flat bar for the pinch seam mount, the only problem with using it is the backside of the pinch on KK's isn't flat (thought it was but didn't look close enough :banghead: ). If you look carefully at the pics you'll see how bent it got from tightening the bolts prior to tacking it all together.. I'm confident in the four 1x2 legs being plenty sturdy, as the load from dropping onto them cantilevers off the pinch seam. Having the inner two legs at least at a 30* angle would spread the load better though.

Those doors should be ready to go pretty soon.

Yeah I was wondering about that bend haha. I like your tubing kicking out a lot...prevents people from finding a way to remove that rear thing that's spot welded on (I'm about to drill the welds out and bedline the whole side there haha). I haven't drilled any holes yet, waiting for her to be all tacked up so I only have to drill one hole haha. I wanted to make sure I could slide on the legs if case needed to, that's why I have them being as beefy as the main rail haha. Any pics of your rails being mocked onto the KK?

The idea behind the 'kick out' is that if you are nudged up against a rock/boulder/tree stump etc then your rear end will be moved away from said obstacle protecting the body...

Here are some pics taken when it was being tacked together. The lighting was terrible..

The intro price for a set of front doors is going to be $295 plus shipping, and should be available late January. Pricing on the rock sliders is to be determined, I need to zero in on the build cost for short production runs..
