part number for tensioner pulley

Having to do some accessory drive work on the GF's crd. Belt was original and coming apart. It had a squeak and bearing growl. The fan clutch had been locked up for a while taking the shaft and bearing down with it. I inspected the decoupler pulley on the alt, it is fine. One idler growls a bit, and the other has a slight catch. i have a new fan clutch, idlers, and fan pulley assembly on the way. My problem is that i can not find just the tensioner pulley. The tensioner itself if fine. If anyone has any insight on a part number, or a replacement would be greatly appreciated.

If you mean the idler pulley on the serpentine belt tensioner it's the same PN as the other 2 serp belt idlers

Indeed I am. I always just called the pulley on the tensioners, just a tensioner pulley. Thanks papindingo. I'll order a third one. I also did the ORM by pulling the MAS sensor. I'll try and find a provent filter and do that good jaz.

You can also use a Gates or Napa 36101 and if you look up 04-12 Colorado you'll find another half dozen options.

Alternatively you can replace the bearing in your existing pulley.

How did you inspect the decoupler? Because I had the same problem and replaced my tensioner first and the noise came back after a few days. It was the decoupler. Because mine looked great but then I took it off and it fell apart.

i took the cover off to look for the red dust from the clutches, and didnt see any. i also spun it with a drill(a old burn off wheel attached to the drill), then grabbed the pulley while my roommate see if the shaft spun while the pulley was still. He claimed to see slight slippage.

But now ive got bigger issues. On my way to the P.J.O.C. (paducah jeep owner club) christmas dinner tonight, the fan bearing finally let go and went into the radiator. So now i have to get a new radiator, fan blade assembly, and shroud.

I am having a difficult time finding the metal fan. Ive been looking on moparpartsoverstock.com and moparpartsamerica.com

Found a radiator and shroud on rock auto.

Little update on all of this. Finally found the Fan blade part number and got one coming from moparpartsoverstock.com
Radiator and shroud coming from rock auto. This has turned into one expensive week.

Check idparts.com, they have some parts for very good prices. They had at least the fan bearing assembly.

Got the fan bracket in today. Fan shroud came in from rock auto also and its nowhere close. It is referenced to part number on rock auto 52080127aa. On Moparpartsoverstock.com and it fits the v6. So I used there site to find factory shroud number and it lists the same number for the diesel, but in the description says for 3.7 ggggrrrrr I just want the correct parts the first time and correct number. When I get back to the garage in going to try and find a number on the original shroud.

The parts fiche (http://colorado4wheel.com/manuals/Jeep/KJ/) lists 5143022AA as the 2.8l fan shroud and 52079879AB as the silly "door" flapper at the bottom.

Why are you getting a new shroud? I assume yours was somewhat damage when the fan came lose but you only really need the top 1/2 (section above the bolt tabs) so if that's ok just cut the bottom off and throw it away and use the top 1/2

Got one in mind that will move enough air in summer time here in the sunny HOT south???

There is a fan off a Ford or something that was recommended to me.

There is also an aftermarket kit sold on Ebay that mounts to the radiator fins. I refuse to do that, as I have had 2 radiators ruined by coolers that were mounted to the fins.

When I asked the guy about a different method of mounting, he got all mouthy with me, called me a lair and suggested I do business elsewhere. Which I for sure will. You could not beat me hard enough to buy from his ignorant butt. I did some searches and found that he is known for this ignorant stuff.

If you search electric fans in the CRD section here, especially with threads that I posted in, You will find some recommendations.

That eBay kit with ff dynamics fan is actually installed on my jeep, I just didn't use the silly plastic clamps and made 2 brackets to secure the fan where the original shroud was mounted. I made a write up in the tech forum a while ago about it. Mine works like a charm, no issues in summer heat (90-ish) and city traffic, I guarantee it would be fine in the south since the fan barely starts in the summer, runs for about 1-1.5 min then stops for about 2. I wouldn't recommend the efan for people that tow over 2k lbs though, and for long periods of time, the stock metal fan has more cooling capacity with engine over 2500 rpm (versus 3500 or 3600 cfm that ffdynamics advertises), and this is more a guess I have based on 5400cfm (if I remember correctly from what gde posted) of the mechanical fan in max rpm.

Based on your picture of the fan shroud it looks to me like both mounting bolt tabs are intact as is the top of the shroud with the possible exception of a bit of the edge just above the right mounting tab. If that's the case my advice stands; just cut the shroud just below the other mounting tab; ditch the entire bottom part; install only the top part and you will be fine. NOTE be very careful to reuse the current shroud mounting bolts or if you misplaced them do some careful measurement for replacements; length of these bolts is critical as too long will puncture the radiator.

I'm particular about bolt placement. When I take a part off, I take the hardware and put it back where they came from.

I'm going to just return the wrong shroud and do like you said, just cut the original one.
