Both of those sound awesome, but think smaller. A hint: It's something that you'd probably want to get for your JBA 4 inch kit.

Something to help with alignments or replacement parts?

Getting warmer, but ... :D I'm going to check with Marlin before I post pics, because it's not up on JBA's website just yet.

Lfhoward - I want whatever you got

Bmxer - rear adjustable coilovers would be really sick!

I guess I'm going to have to settle on waiting for Lauren to tell us lol.

And I completely agree. A cantilever setup that takes the spot of our spare would probably work out perfectly. Good ride AND adjustability. Obviously it would mean losing the spare, or going with a rear mounted spare. Only problem is, I'm not the most educated on coilovers, so I'm not sure what it entails as far as going a custom route with buying the shocks and springs. I know you can probably get King, Fox, or Bilsteins, it's just a matter of finding the proper lengths, spring rate, and valving. Then doing all the math to make it work properly. Next step is mounting it to the axle, I doubt you can just mount them to stock shock mounts. They probably need custom mounts to handle all the stress. Troy would probably know a lot about it all.

Not sure how well the cantilever system would work. With just coils I already have too much flex on 31s, so no real need for it...until she gets paid off and becomes the dedicated trail rig project...

I've been looking at custom coilovers A LOT lately in hopes of traversing towards new areas and Fox is definitely where I've spent most my time. They're better than common Bilstein but WAAAYYY cheaper than King (who would be the easiest after you tell them what you want since everything they make is custom haha)

I just like the fact that a cantilever setup would get the coilovers up and out of harms way. Set up right you might be able to get more down travel and just have to limit up travel with bumpstops.

It might just be more cost efficient to install 6" rear springs haha. The springs themselves cost as much as a single Fox coilover shock. I do like thinking about where and how to install this though. A cantilever is superior to just coils with shocks haha.

Might be cheaper, but you lose the ability to adjust the ride height. The reason why I would go with adjustable coil overs is just so I can tweak how she sits.

That would be very nice, but everytime you adjust the coilover you'll have to adjust the track bar to keep it center so the driveshaft don't rub (I really need to build one of these...)

Alright, so I have Marlin's ok to post this pic!
Image

I picked up a pair of new rear track bar ends that have bushings instead of heim joints. These bar ends should completely eliminate the click-clunk-clunk from the rear track bar that happens on dirt roads or bumps on the highway. This is a new product for KK's using JBA's adjustable rear track bar designed for the JBA 4 inch lift kit.

On JBA's website, the KK rear track bar now comes with a choice of ends: heims or flanges with bushings.
http://jeepinbyal.com/liberty-2008-2012-kk/rear-shocks-and-coil-springs/rear-track-bar-for-4-and-up-lift-kit.html

As I understand it, the advantages of heim joints are strength and maneuverability for anything off-road that you can throw at it, including rock climbing, but the trade-off is they transmit noise directly to the unibody. These new flanges with bushings are probably strong enough for anything offroad that I would be doing (I'm not interested in rock climbing, but I get pretty far off the beaten path), but they will be much quieter for my KK's role as my family's daily driver.

Thanks for making these available, Marlin! :JEEPIN:

Thanks for the link, it does seem pretty easy in theory, but I'm definitely apprehensive about tackling something like this myself.

Not a huge modification or anything, but I'm still excited for it. Today is the last day I have my craptastic tires...

Adios to the baby shoes...

Nice! Both sides are bushings, or is it 1 side bushing, the other heim?

I got two bushing ends from JBA, a right handed and a left handed. Since I currently have two heim joints on there, I suppose I could run a bushing on the left where the bar connects to the unibody and a heim on the right where the bar connects to the axle. But... I plan to run both bushing ends. I like a quiet ride, since this is my daily driver. 8) I can always play around with different configurations later if I find I don't have enough flexibility with the two bushing ends. I suspect they will be fine though.

Works stock, can't see why it won't when lifted. Keep us updated on how it all works out. From the pics, it looks like the bushings are grease-able?

Not the greatest quality pics, since I shrunk them down, but here's the new tires on my KK. I went with Yokohama Geolander AT/S, size 255/70/16. I think it looks a lot better, especially since I can't lift it (yet!) The new tires run & feel great so far. I plan on dipping the rims this week as well, if the weather cooperates.

(sorry the Jeep is so filthy, too darn cold to hand wash it! :D )

Had an absolute blast wheeling on Thursday.
Took the Liberty to Forked River Mountain and it made it all the way through.
On a dry day, it would have been much easier.
The previous snow and rain made for about 6 or so water crossings that were a lot of fun. The deepest one was a little scary, but I definitely have much more respect for the Liberty and the way it's geared.
I don't have pictures of the water crossings, and I also left my dash cam at home that day by accident. The few pictures I do have, I'll post when I get them from my friend.
For those of you that want to know more about this place, it's easily accessed from Waretown, New Jersey on Wells Mills Road. Most of the terrain is what my friends referred to as "sugar sand" which was pretty compact for the most part because of previous rain.
