Cool pic, where is this? I can't stand the snow, grew up in it, & still get it every now & then here in NC. I took a couple of cool pics of my KK covered in snow last winter though.

HD OME lift, 255/70/16 skins, pro comp steel wheels with 4.25" back spacing, sneaky 30" light bar in the lower portion of the bumper. Next plan is a winch and/or nerf bars

My antenna mount will be going where the Trail Rated badge is. It's the flysh mount FireStik makes.

Ive never seen that mount before. I like the look of the antenna in the back. Image

I do like that but one thing I CANNOT stand are cables being seen. (It's one of the things I do in my job haha.) So this is the fix: Firestik M2 Molded Plastic Side Mount https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005AUTE84/re ... Xub1Y0VPTY

The cables will be hidden behind the fender and all will be okay haha.

Had a great time today with Lauren (lfhoward).
Our Jeeps side by side. We measured, and he's an inch higher in the front, and an inch and a half higher in the back.
Image
We both did tire rotations and I wanted to see what 245s looked like next to 225s
Image
Lauren adjusted his emergency brake.
Image
Popped our hoods so I could show off my engine bay to him.
Image
We went on test drives in both Jeeps. Took one last photo before he left.

What's your honest opinion on ride quality, OME vs JBA, now that you drove LF's KK?

Just curious, I've been eyeing JBA coilovers :SOMBRERO:

Nice! Sounded productive and fun haha. How much better of a ride was the JBA lift than the OME?

I installed the CB mount, antenna, and required cabling.

Not sure if I did something wrong or it's just REALLY out of tune and the fact that it's hiding under a carport... I get BUSY for all 40 channels. Yes, everything is wired up, red to red, black to black, and mount ground to chassis.

It's hard to explain the difference. Let me see if I can put this into words.
His KK rode the same way in my opinion, but the bumps felt less dramatic which produced a slightly but noticeably quieter noise.
Maybe it's the JBA-arms, maybe the lift, or probably both.
Hard to make a good review because he is also running a bigger tire as well, but we both like our tire pressure high.
His lift is great for someone wanting to go with a big tire.
It was really cool to me to check everything out and to see a few things like the arms and skid plates. His pull out storage is very clever and holds a bunch of stuff.

Don't let it...it's awful not having a flare...I can never see out of my side mirror because all the road dirt covers it when driving over 50mph and it makes weird noises going 10mph, as if the engine was a diesel...

I would agree with what Gage says here, comparing the OME and JBA lifts. His OME lift is very good quality and rode very well. My JBA 4 inch lift has seen some use and some years, but was at least comparable to Gage's in ride quality, which is still very good. I think the larger tires on mine may have absorbed the bumps of broken pavement a bit more softly. The PSI in my tires is about 35-36. I do like JBA springs on mine a bit better, but OME is a good way to go also.
In terms of the Hypertech and 4.7 throttle body on Gage's KK, they definitely felt like they added some more pep and responsiveness. Gage is running stock size tires so some of that pep comes from his 225/75/R16's when comparing to my 245/75/R16's, but I definitely liked what I saw with his engine mods. His smaller tires also allow him to coast longer distances before losing as much speed, hence his incredible miles per gallon numbers.
All in all, it was a great day! Got a lot done, and just in time for a whopper of a snowstorm. They are predicting 20-30 inches in New York City and 14-24 in Philly. I also found out I really like a NJ culinary favorite: pork roll!

Edit: Gage, that color on my Jeep is called "Modern Blue".

Hey, Lauren. I saw two more cops tonight! They sure were out and about today.
Morgan, it was cool to see your handy work on his Jeep.
Looks like I'll have to whip up a pork roll egg and cheese sandwich for the whole forum. :ROTFL:
Here's the picture when I put your tire in front of mine from a different angle.

I will as soon as I get it wired up. I just need the wire for them. I was lazy, I wanted very little soldering to be done so I ordered a spool of 10 gauge wire. over kill for these lights, but I plan on throwing 100w bulbs in there at some point. luckily I have a lot of spare solid state relays on hand. the pros of being an electrician.

reinstalled my cb antenna after the mount failed on the trail last month. I used to have 1/8" aluminum (what a mistake) now I have 1/4" steel. its currently primed and sanded, just needs to be painted my camo tan that is on most of my trim.

wire for the lights will be in tomorrow. the relay is all wired up so all that needs done is the switch and feed to the lights.

the picture makes the antenna look crooked, but it is completely plumb!
