PAliftedKK you're the first I've seen mount their antenna like that. I like it. It's different. Just got some new shoes, 235/85r16 Wrangler MTR with Kevlar. To answer the coming questions. No I haven't reheated yet, yes I plan on it when I can scrape the funds together and decide how low I want to go. So far there is a slight power difference, but not intolerable. My speedometer is off by about 4mph at 65mph.

I think I got the idea from jeepmonkeys pod lights. although I've been needing an upgrade from my previous 1 bolt aluminum design. I like the cb antenna in the front. when I go south, it gives me something to focus on.

I went to the hardware store yesterday looking for the steel. the thickness was 1/4" or 1/8", and the 1/8" was about half the width of my current set up. the 1/8" would have been easier to bend! I took a torch to the 1/4" steel and got it red hot started bending it and then quenched it. what a PITA to bend a 6" curve.

Not sure what your experience level is, but are you planning on doing the conversion yourself?

I plan on doing it myself with slightly more knowledgeable friends, but none of us have ever done a regear...what's the worst that can happen haha.

I found probably the best write-up for regearing here: http://www.pirate4x4.com/tech/billavista/Gear_Setup/

Doing this in the base's hobby shop with this write-up and the instructions from Yukon, we should be able to do this over a couple days worst case scenario.

Good luck! Are you planning on doing lockers while the differential is torn apart? If not, now is the time to do it.

I thought about it...but DTTs are another $600-700 per axle...I'll wait until she becomes dedicated trail rig before I buy/install those haha.

Hello all. New-ish to the forum. Been perusing a bit checking out everyone's rig. Trying to get my plan together for the build! Spoke to some good folks on here and got some good advice (shout out and thanks to Gageraid for taking the time to answer a newbies questions). So ordered my parts and they have begun to arrive. Went with the OME lift w/ JBA a-arms, teraflex bumpstops. Oh its all for my 2012 Libby KK. going to go with the 245/75/16 BFG AT's.
I'll load up photos as I go.
Glad to be a part of the community here, thanks for taking the time to read.

Welcome Chuco66! Definitely post some pics of your KK when you can. I have a '12 KK as well.

As for upgrades, I have a few small aesthetic upgrades that are in the mail, & I think that I'm gonna order this on Friday in the black finish:

http://www.autoanything.com/grille-guar ... 24153.aspx

I have talked with Gageraid about this already, so hopefully it'll work with my KK. Has anybody else had any issues with it?

First off, welcome to the LOST. As you already know there's a ton of info and most members will be willing to help with any questions. I know I pestered Tom a few times when I was first starting

Cainneach, if it's anything like my brush guard, it'll mount to the tow hook spots. It should come with brackets that bolt to where the tow hooks mount, and then you mount the guard to the brackets.

Made an appointment for someone else to touch my baby...

After debating with myself for a couple days, I've decided to let Chaos Fab Shop () do the regear for the Jeep. It's a little pricey but I feel that it'll be worth it in the end thanks to the warranty that comes with the work. It's a lifetime-whatever-happens-we'll-fix-it warranty and a $2000 collateral damage insurance on top of that. They were also able to sell me the gears/kits I just bought for $900 for $600 instead. So in the end it's about $2200 with parts/labor involved. Plus the new tires, I'm ordering 265/75 Pro Comp M/T2s. She'll be a WHOLE new Jeep. Work should be getting done sometime between Feb 9th - 13th...

On a fun Jeep note, I recovered an 11,000lb forklift 4 times today because our loading dock was really really slick haha. The first time was in 4WD and the rest was in 4LOW. I was able to idle and pull in 4LOW as if the forklift wasn't there...ridiculous...

In the end you'll be glad you let someone else do the gears. I have past experience doing them but let someone else do my rears since I hadn't setup any for about 12-15 years.
