Where does the stock sub go? I'd like to add a little something to mine but don't want to lose and space in the rear. It'd be great if it was plug and play although I suspect it's not.

no plug and play. stock sub goes in the rear cargo area on the passenger side. exactly opposite of the jack compartment. theres kit sub boxes that are able to be installed under the seats. our KKs aren't made for those kit boxes though you could fabricate one.

Now for the code, it read P0562 - System Voltage Low

I looked up possible causes are they are:
- Low battery charge
- Battery defective
- Loose or missing alternator drive belt
- Faulty alternator
- Open or short system voltage circuit

I'm thinking the battery was just weak because that night before I started it, it dropped down to -40 and then stayed between -30 to -40 all day. I did have it plugged it, but at this point I'm just going to wait for warm weather and hopefully it goes away.

wouldn't doubt it if it was the alternator. although if the system voltage was low the instrument cluster would display a critical system error code or something like that. and you would know if it was an alternator issue. id say its the battery possibly internally shorting out over time. aslong as all the fuses are good, there shouldn't be anything majorly wrong.

I'm the same way. There might be a way to put a sub where the factory one would go though. I'm not sure...

Edit: Does anyone on here have the factory upgraded sound system? Can you post a pic of the rear so we can see how the sub is set up?

Edit...again:
Does this look right?

If this is correct, my KK has a little cubby where the sub goes.

I have the cubby too. It holds my fire extinguisher.

Bummer on the no plug and play. Subarus were great for that. They usually had wires ran for options the vehicle didn't come with. I added fog lights to my Impreza by buying the housing, the new surrounds and just plugged them in. I think the stereo was pretty similar.

I had taken the rear panels down at one point to trace a wire to see where it went, and there were some extra plugs back there. I kind of doubt that if any of them were for a sub, that it still wouldn't be plug and play, because I would assume that you would also need the factory amp... I could be completely wrong on this though.

bmxer and 12kk. it technically could be plug and play. and bmxer that is the correct location. the non infinity kks do have this subwoofer option after market though.

if drilling into that plastic scares you like it does with me, have a shop fabricate one for you. fiberglass molding is easy. but tuning it. that's a whole other story. yes you could just plop a sub in there with out a chamber, but that would sound like rattling cans...

if you do enough research, doing this "mod" is simple.
what you can do for a good price is get a speaker to rca converter. the first link below is the best for the price. or you could go with a PAC adapter. if you have a 2010 to 2012 kk, the 2nd link below would be perfect. and its a slightly easier install then the lc2i. the lc2i just has more fine-tune control then the PAC.

if you have an 2008 to 2010 KK the PAC AOEM-CHR3 will work. 2011 and 2012 KKs, we don't have any product listed that will work on their site, but the C2A-CHY23 will work. not sure why its not listed on PACs site but is on amazon. buy it before they stop manufacturing it!!!!

what I would recommend: the PAC adapter. mainly because its literly plug and play. prices set aside because they are both at the same price point. I will be installing the PAC in my KK soon. so im not going to recommend something I wouldn't buy.

if ya'll find some other PAC or adapter, pm me and ill let you know if its worth your money.

Well the light is off now. Must have just been the really cold weather. Let it run while I was shovelling the driveway and then after I went inside for a bit, needed to head back out and it was off

I like things to look factory inside. So if I do end up doing it, I'll need to hide the sub or put aftermarket in the stock place possibly using factory moulding(I'd have to look into that). Then obviously if end up putting an amp in somewhere, upgrading speakers and head unit and most likely add more sound deadening to stop rattles etc.

I know there is a lot of members on here doing audio upgrades. I really wish I could show ya'll what im planning on doing to just give ya'll an idea. bmxer, if you want it to sound good and worth your time and money, get a 10 or 12 inch sub depending on what type of genre is your main genre and get a square shaped enclosure. they on average take up about 18 inches by 18 inches.

the rattle the speakers make when the audio is loud enough is very bad in my KK. bad enough to justify spending 2.5k bucks on an install. Im not getting Audison amps but I am getting alpine amps with their sub. im not sure if I want an alpine or Audison audio processor. their basically the same price. im going a different route with the audio feed to the amps though. I wont mention what im doing different though, but most installers do not do this or know how to do it.

I listen to a lot of metal/heavy rock(avenged sevenfold etc), but can jump to house or edm depending on my mood. I listen to almost everything really. That even includes oldies from the 50s-60s.

I'll eventually get around to redoing the stereo. I don't want to dump thousands into it. I need to figure out the sub first lol

he was pretty nice about it too. he didn't ask me to take them off or cover them when I have the covers behind the drivers seat.

he was indirectly complimenting the lights. insurance shouldn't raise since it was my first incident and that it was not a serious issue. not like a dui, no seatbelt, or speeding.

the story on how I got pulled over is actually funny though. that's a story for when I meet ya'll!

ill just be more careful and to not high beam an officer next time with 400 watts of glory! if only I had my 220 watt set up.

I don't have any yet. It's in pretty good shape. A little rust on the front fenders, tear in the drivers seat. The chassis had some rust but was cut out and repaired. It has 165k miles on it. It's got a ton of torque off the line(it weighs nothing), but dies real quick lol. 3 speed auto, 4.0 i6. We gotta get it up and running smooth. My sister is still 16, so my dad will probably use it tip she gets her license. His beater has no a/c and the TJ does so he has good reason lol

I was gonna post these a few days ago, but better late than never. These are a few pics from this past week/weekend when we went to Snowshoe, WV.

The Jeep after we pulled in to our place...

After it snowed 15" the night before we left...I wish I had gotten a pic of my Jeep. But, this is my friend's car after a hour or so of shoveling...

This is my Jeep after we got back...poor filthy lil' bugger!

The shade of the grey on mine was quite a bit lighter than stock due to all the salt, so I took it to the car wash yesterday and got rid of it all. It looks like a totally different vehicle now.
