That might be true when they are new, but I have seen and felt the results myself when installing the elbow kit - With no other changes concurrent - and there is certainly a difference.

The EGR leaking is the only way I can explain that difference in performance feel.

Thanks for the tip on the Weeks Kit. Definitely looks interesting. I failed to mention in my last post what I think is the contributing culprit - a failed EGR valve cooler. I think it is leaking coolant into the EGR control valve. Before I spend the money on a Weeks Kit, I am wondering if I isolate the coolant supply to the EGR cooler and watch the coolant reservoir level for a drop, that this will confirm my suspicions. I do not know the exact construction of the cooler. If coolant is fed to a thermo-mechanical device which then functions the previously mentioned poppet valve in the EGR to recirculate some exhaust to the charge air system, then it seems to me, without the benefit of an autopsy of the EGR and EGR cooler, that there is reason to believe a leak here is a possibility. But I repeat myself. In the meanwhile, I will add some more coolant to the reservoir.

Stay tuned.
