Finally got rid of my death trap of a tire yesterday morning. Just in time for snow today

Cooper Discoverer A/T3 235/75/16. Difference was night and day. Usually have to use 4x4 a couple times with just a dusting. Didnt use is once today (at least on the road) :-)r

GVTLiberty, those are good tires. I had those when my Jeep was stock height and they were good in all conditions.

Yea, i did a lot of searching and liked the reviews and didnt want to spend a lot of money. Ended up getting everything mount, balance, and align all for 550 out the door so i jumped on it. They will definitely hold me over til i get my planned OME lift probably next spring. Luckily when i got my KK in November it looks like the stock springs and shocks were replaced by PO. It was surprisingly same height as stock and i got it with 80k

I was so bummed to learn that the tires that came on my new JKU were Wrangler SRA's. One of those moments where I was so mad I could tackle a horse. So now I'm trying to acquire some decent Hercules Terra Trac AT II's in the 265/70/17 flavor and ditch these horrible tires.

Yea it's amazing what a solid AT can do.

On a side note, about an hour ago my girlfriend wanted some food from the diner and I couldn't volunteer fast enough lol. To my surprise, not a single road was plowed and when I left the diner I stumbled across their unplowed empty back parking lot. You can only imagine what I felt obligated to do  :-)r

I dropped it off for a quick oil change and tire rotation this morning and quickly got talked into doing the 32,000 mile service even though it's a couple thousand miles early. I've already started my stretching so I can properly grab my ankles when I pick it up at lunch...

Last time I went to this dealership I told myself it was probably the last. But, like a fool, I went back to this same one. I had not left the parking lot of the dealership when my check engine light came on after they changed the oil, rotated the tires, changed the plugs and did an induction cleaning. I immediately went back to the service department and they scanned for codes. As it was idling, the RPMs were surging and you could hear the motor revving up and down. Apparently a whole pile of codes were triggered including low air pressure, invalid key and low voltage. The tech assumes it's just from the induction cleaner and it needs to be driven hard to burn the stuff off. He cleared the code and I went for a few minute drive. The CEL has yet to come back on but the RPMs are still surging a bit at idle. I don't recall the motor ever surging in the past. The idle was usually very steady. Dealerships...

It would be nice, although I'm not hopeful, if the mileage improved a bit after the new plugs. It did seem to fire up quicker but I could be wrong.

So over the weekend I was able to drive JUST under 230mi (after calculations) on one tank of gas (18.3gal) (I'm already chuckling imagining what Gage's face will be after reading this). This came out to 12.5mpg of except for about 4-5mi, pure highway at speeds of 55mph and 70mph. Good thing I didn't build this for gas mileage haha.

any plans for exhaust mod or 4.7l intake? you have a 08 KK right? hypertech that KK!

the only thing I can do with my KK is intake, exhaust, and injectors for a minute if any performance gain.

throw one of those fake turbo things that go on your exhaust! I heard they get 40 hp more on the dyno....

I get to bring it back to the dealer tomorrow. CEL came back on. I know there are plenty of people smarter than those techs on this board so does anyone have an idea of where to start with this thing? All they did was rotate the tires, change the oil, changed the spark plugs and did an induction cleaning. It ran fine on the highway drive home but seemed to suck a lot of fuel.

Something isn't running right(obviously). I have a feeling it had to do with the induction cleaning. But I'm not exactly sure...

I assume that's the case, too. I didn't see that as a requirement in Jeep's recommended service for the mileage but the tech made it seem like that was the case. If they don't rectify the problem tomorrow I'll be having a chat with the general manager since they talked me into a service I apparently didn't need and has since screwed something up.
