My 2005 CRD pulls small trailer great overall and I like the shift pattern as it is when empty. When towing on the interstate, it has enough power to run 70 and not shift up and down - all is great. However, through hills on a 55 mph highway, 5th is often too high of gear to maintain it ends up shifting too much. 4th but would be a perfect gear to stay in with power for the hill and not over rev at 55 to 60. I like to get a little run at a hill say 65, then it shifts up and has to shift back down. The button locks it in 3rd and that doesn't allow enough speed to be practical. Can the button be reprogrammed to hold in 4th vs 3rd?

I have a junk intrepid that has a manual shift option. Any body make something like that for these jeeps?
Thanks

We have a transmission towing tune that will hold 4th gear from 46-70mph. At 70 it will upshift to 5th and hold it back down 50-52mph. This works very well when towing or traversing hills.
