Good choice with the black one. Little more power with that one.

The CAI was one of the first things I bought. The Jeep sounds great with it on!

Hopefully the damage doesn't cost much. I'm just busting his chops cuz he has a nice looking Wrangler. I get surprised when these things get stuck. Snow is not easy to wheel on with that sliding factor.

I was thoroughly surprised he was having issues too haha. The best part was his denial to "let a Liberty pull him out". Had to pull him out three times and eventually haul him up the mountain...he doesn't bad mouth Libertys no more hahaha.

No one else understands these things are awesome offroad.
The low end grunt it great for off road. Put it in 4x4 and it's almost unstoppable.

The 4.0s have a ton of low end too. They're great for around town, but seem to die out in the top end. I think torque wise they're are similar to the 3.7, but we have more horsepower.

please buy a pre-filter! the one below claims it repels water.

even though I have mine in my air box, there was very clear prof that water got into the box with the paper filter.

rather be safe then sorry!

I thought about that! Does it really work well? Do you leave it on all the time or only when its raining or wheeling?

I just put my intake on yesterday. im still waiting for the TB and the pre-filter. it depends if you have a oiled or dry filter. the oiled filters have larger "pours". the pre filter theoretically will drop performance ever so slightly, but is there for when you go through deep puddles fast (like me).

and keep it on all the time since the oiled filters don't trap as much dirt/dust.

and since you don't have the stock air box, that air filter will be sucking up all types of nastiness. id say to buy a pre-filter and a brand new filter. plus, keep that current one as a spare! you don't know how your friend treated the filter. looking at the picture, that's a dry filter. a very dirty dry filter! it wouldn't hurt to get a new filter. dry or oiled. depends on what type you want.

I go to school with the guy i bought it from. Its only 6 months old so I'm not worried about the filter

Installed my roof lights, tried hiding my 10AWG wires best I could...thought it turned out pretty good haha.

Works!

Had to remove the rubber filler and run cables under, cut notches in the roof brackets for cables to navigate through it...for very inflexible 10AWG this turned out pretty good haha

write up? how to? just wondered. the way you ran your wires are more stealth then the way I ran mine. I ran mine from the battery to the rear, to the lights.

It's pretty simple. The rubber filler on the roof was 3M taped on, peeled it off and scraped old stuff off. Ran the wires under the windshield's plastic trim, just tuck the wires in there with plier tips. Cut the plastic a little inside roof brackets. My roof bars are 1/2 unistrut so it leaves a perfect channel for the wiring to get done. I used butt splices the entire length of the run. I just need a switch and fuse for it now haha.

I haven't seen the roof trim yet, but is there a void large enough for that 10 GA wire?

definitely a cleaner job then mine. like I said, my solar panel wires and roof lighting wires aren't loomed and are showing signs of uv deterioration...

not sure if you bought a switch yet but the link below is the switch I have. it is worth every bit of $15.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NUA2258/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

im waiting on my ceramic fuse to still blow. its almost overloaded.

one of these days ill have 0/00 wire hooked up directly to the alternator to a fuse block panel. the battery terminals are starting to look sloppy.

our KKs seem to have good alternators. my 400 watt lights come on, the cabin lights dim then brighten up again to normal. would be nice if these newer alternators had a 24V or even as high as 48V output as well! would be very very handy!

I plan on just getting a temp switch. Until I can get rockers from these guys: http://www.otrattw.net/

I plan on putting a switch bank in the overhead just behind the lights. Should be able to fit...just need to cut the overhead and not look back. Worst case scenario, I Gorilla glue the switchbank in place haha.

the over head switch panel is ideal! theres like what, 3 or 4 inches from the roof to the headliner. there has to be some sort of pancake box for rockers for the overhead installs.

putting the switch panel behind the light would require you to reach backwards correct? maybe find an over head console and go from there, more factory look then hacking up the headliner.

just saw this:

seems like after it is spray painted or fabric wrapped, this would be somewhat more functional. install the rockers on the side of the overhead console.
