Good morning fellow CRD'ers. I have an 06 crd with cloth interior.. I've just stumbled across a full set of heated leather seats from an 06 in really good shape. Can anyone tell me if the wiring for the heated leather exists in all the jeeps or is it something I would need to add? Thanks

Are your current seats manual or power without heat. IIRC you will have to swap the passenger side airbag sensor that's under the seat.

Best I can say then is you will need to get power to the seat. I personally do not know how but it can be done. Hopefully someone who know how will weigh in but in the interim the FSMs at http://colorado4wheel.com/manuals/Jeep/KJ/ have somewhat usable wiring diagrams.

I believe there are wiring differences between heated and non heated, and if you have power nothing seats im not sure. From what I remember when I was looking people had to manually rewire some of the harnesses and make a custom cross over setup from the drivers to the passenger side to power that seat. It would be nice if you could pull the full harness from the donor vehicle.

Edit: To expand on what I said, the FSM states that there is only one heated seat control module which is located under the drivers side seat. I belive this is why you need to wire from the drivers seat over to the passenger seat as the actual control is in the drivers side.

Out of curiosity, do you need leather seats because of the premium look, or just to have heated seats. If last, there are heated 12v blankets that are made to be installed under the seat cloth, with switches, heat levels, etc, so it may be easier to just do that. You'll need a relay (preferably) per blanket and few hours of work. I added heating on my jeep cloth seats, very easy to do, but I one don't like leather seats.

Yeah, because you will also need to repair post haste to yer local dealer to have the premium seats option enabled in your Body Control Module, utilizing the STARSCAN programming tool

From a quick google search: http://www.jeepkj.com/forum/f202/how-ad ... -kj-25651/

Different year, but may help.

I don't think any reprogramming of the BCM is necessary.

Yea i think the control is all self contained, you just need to wire to the proper fuses. #'s 25 and 29 I think
