I was working on front brakes today and noticed what looked like a rub mark on that metal cylinder on the inner CV on the passenger side. It wiggles pretty decent as you can see in the video, but the axle shaft itself feels pretty solid and doesn't click or exhibit normal worn CV symptoms.

I haven't had the CVs of a KJ apart before myself, so is this movement normal? Is that cylinder just some sort of cover or I should I replace that guy?

Thanks!

Looks like the passenger inner CV where it engages the intermediate shaft can wear out and the splines can become worn together. Even though there is that distinct wiggle, I couldn't separate the two. I ordered a new intermediate shaft, intermediate shaft bearing, seal, and passenger CV. Will replace when I have time again.

Use only a NAPA remanned CV , others from parts stores do not work
