Hi guys
I have a slight squeal coming from the alternator pulley on my 2.5 CRD KJ.
Just wondered if any of you have ever experienced this?
I'm assuming I can just take out the bolt through the centre of the pulley, pull it off and replace it.
Thanks in advance :)

IT's a little more complicated than that replacing the Alternator Decoupler Pulley, but if you search here, several have found the right kit and tools to do it without having to buy a new one.

Good luck!

On the 2.8 we have in us, you can get this:

-68009879AB alternator decoupler pulley
Litens updated (PN 920834 available from Advanced Auto at $78) that is internally greased.

Don't remember exactly who posted it, but there is a relatively recent thread about the alt pulleys. If you'll Google lostjeeps "PN 920834" you may find the exact thread. I believe that the thread also has the litens tool set that you need, also available from idparts.com

You should also check if there's a alternator rebuild shop in your area. If you take the alternator to them they can probably supply and install the pulley for less than the cost of buying the Litens one from Advanced Auto.
