Just got off the phone with my celebrity. Man I ramble when I get excited.

If all goes as planned, there could be a special guest speaker tonight :)

(keep in mind, I am running Dakota shocks still on my 4 inch lift, meaning my flex is limited at the moment.... I know, I know. haven't had time or money to buy new ones yet. with the kk diff swap, and this and other things going on, they just had to do)

Okay, so I got around to uploading the test pics and

 FLEX VIDEO!!!!

FLEX VIDEO

Yes those are 32's.

Its not centered becuase he has the longer lower arms.
I have noticed on my 06 it rubs on the front side with 32s than sitting centered with the same tires on my 02. So little differences between all the years.

Mine will not be centered either, but i will be running 33s on a 5" lift. So yeah.

So to get this all straight the longer control arms (lower) just move the wheel/tire back an inch or so? This just keeps it from rubbing the flare? Or the arc keeps it from rubbing all together(on 32's)? I am missing the boat I think.

I don't get it at all either, for me its not gaining anything actually losing
You can see his hits the flare in the rear now where before it more than likely didn't
Mine stuffs right up in centered up with 32s on same front and rear

Its easier to cut a little plastic than to cut into the door. And try to center stuff a 33, trust me you wont without more bumpstop

K, before this blows up. Lol

I only rubbed on the front edge before. That was with 32's and 2 inches of lift.

Then I lifted 4 inches and put in wj lowers. I didn't use enough bumpstop I don't think.
I ideally want adjustable lowers, just cause I am groupie of sexy parts.. Lol. I thought I would try stock wj arms to see where I would sit.

I had a custom rear bumper before, and the rear potion of the flare, was gone, then I switched back to plastic cuz the wife said it looked like booty.

I moved the wheelbase back an inch and I stopped rubbing my front flare. Another inch of bumpstop.. And I'll be good. Win win.

*unstuffed, on the street.. The wheel sits perfect centre at 4 inches of lift.

Wildman would argue that point maybe
He didn't move his back and trimmed the back edge of the area by the rear doors ( running 285-75-16s by mistake )
So I agree with 33s, thought we were talking 32s

Oh well mine doesn't hit with 2.5 inches of bumpstop and 32s , works for me without issues
Carry on my friends
Image
Wildmans " trim" in the rear and that was running my old OME lift after 100,000 miles I put on it

I thought I did at one time, now just would like to go from 4.10s to 4.56s and another set of 265-75-16s or 235-85-16s and call it good .

Yes(depending on length of rear LCA's) but also points the pinion down creating a bad pinion angle unless you add longer(to match the lowers) uppers. Will also off center your rear coils and you will loose travel since the shocks are now not at the intended angle.

Got more flex by selective trimming, proper rims(and back spacing),and correct shocks.

Wish USAFCOP would have gotten a pic of the otherside,35" tires stuff well.

Tom i agree 100%, 32.2s with 3 hockey pucks tuck real nice.

I wish the 33s tucked this nice, but they dont. As a fabricator its easier for me to move that axle back a hair, and to drill out the spot welds holding the upper buckets in and bolting them in a hair back. My drive shaft is plenty long enough as i had it made for my np241or and has 4.25" left in the slip joint. My shocks are getting tucked up with custom mounts. I also have custom lower arms with jonny joints on each end. So i can push or pull the entire rear end to wherever i want.

On the flip side

My wifes KJ has the JBA rear ball joint extension and her upper link is shot. So this will be a great upgrade for hers. She might get 33s/4.88s in the extra JBA diff i have. But shes getting ARB in the front real soon in the d30a if she stays with 32s. If she stays with 32s then she will keep the same wheel base as stock becuase hers clear pretty decent. But either way this is a idea i have been wanting to do since I did a Clatyon longarm kit on a buddys WJ.

My upper is adjustable. Pinion angle is a non issue.

Shock brackets will be up next I am sure. Probably be the easiest part.

Tjkj, it's not really fair to compare your flex pics to ours. As yours wheels normally sit halfway out of the wheel well already :p

It's like comparing a ten inch lift to a four. Sfa to ifs.
