Long story short, I need hardware for my skids.
The package I received ONLY had hardware for the engine skid (4 bolts).
What is the correct quantity and hardware for the transfer case, trans, and radiator?

This is very frustrating. Any close up pictures of the transfer case skid installed would be a great help. I can't even figure out how to line it up.

Give me a little while and I'll go out and snap some cell phone pics of how and where the skids bolt up. Sorry you don't have the hardware with the kits. :(

Thanks, Lauren. I feel stupid that I can't even figure out how they bolt up. Not much info readily available.

Alright, here we go:

Radiator skid:
2 bolts and 2 nutserts, one on each side of the radiator.
Image

2 bolts at the back of the radiator skid, bolted directly to the engine skid into threaded holes.
Image

The engine skid has 4 big bolts, which go into the cross members (no nutserts as I recall). Since you have these bolts, I didn't snap pics. The front bolts are in those holes you see behind the radiator skid in the previous pic.

The front of the transmission skid uses the rear 2 bolts of the engine skid. The trans skid slides in under the engine skid so it will not catch on any rocks that are sliding front-to-back under your Jeep.
Image

The rear of the transmission skid has 2 bolts, with nutserts, into the crossmember. The front of the transfer case skid is the same, adjacent.
Image

The other two bolts of the TC skid are to the driver's side "frame", again with nutserts iirc.
Image

The nutsert holes are hexagonal in shape before you install them. That's why it doesn't look like you could screw any bolts in there. Crawl under and locate the mounting points to check the number of nutserts you might need. It has been long enough that I am only about 90% sure about which bolts needed them, above.

Hope this helps, Gage!
Lauren

Both the transmission skid ( rear part) and one side of the transfer case skid can be just bolted on as well .
I never used those crazy serts on mine , just drilled and bolted on much stronger

If I remember right, all of the bolts are flanged head M10x1.5x35 and I'm pretty sure Lauren is right, there are 14 bolts all together (4x rad, 4x eng, 2x trans, 4x tcase) and 8 nutserts (2x trans, 4x skid).

To save sone money and headach, on the transmisson cross member drill the top out of the holes and use longer bolts. Then for the transfer case holes on the frame drill 5/16 holes a bit away from the nutzert holes and tap them for 3/8" bolt. Then save the tap and you can use it when you install rock sliders.

And yes they are m10x1.5x35, i used 30s or 25s.

Thanks for the input everyone.
I'll try to get some hardware this week when I have time.
I'd rather just use bolts everywhere if possible, but I don't have a drill. Just hand tools.
I appreciate the bolt sizes.

Nutserts can be installed using hand tools, and so can the bolts.

Is a nutsert the same thing as a rivet? I have a rivet gun if that's the case.

That's a good question! I am having a hard time finding a suitable image on Google. In a sense it is sort of like a rivet, in that it squishes down when torque is applied... The nutsert retains its threads on the inside, though, so you can screw a bolt into it.

Here is a reasonably good diagram of how a nutsert works. There is a nutsert tool that comes with the kit that does the squishing. I think I probably still have mine if the dealer wants to just sell you the nutserts but no tool.

Image

On the image, the skid plate side would be up and the Jeep frame would be down. You'll have to mentally flip it over.

Interesting, Lauren. The dealer wasn't too much help for me last time I talked to them about the hardware.
I've got to dig a bit deeper and try to contact the seller again about the hardware. Not really trying to spend $50 on hardware, but if I have to, it won't be until another week or so.

I too just got my plates without any hardware. I have a couple feelers out for Mopar hardware. If I find any, I will let you know.

Cool. Keep us posted. I haven't gotten around to going to the hardware store yet.
