I wonder if retorquing the injector fork will reduce all of these cemented-in injectors? It seems like 30% or more of them fail to seal. Is this normal for turbo diesels?

Starting with a rev up to around 1000-1200 is the indication that you have a GDE tune on the computer. If you weren't aware of that, send an email to Keith with your VIN number and he can tell you what tune was programmed into your computer.

As for the hesitation, it doesn't really mean anything right now - you just had the top of the engine open, and it can take upwards of 5-10 minutes to truly purge all the air from the rail. I'd give it some time and see if that hesitation doesn't clear up.

you are welcome , 2000 rpm hesitation in park probably normal , now next step is to see if air is getting in fuel , you will like jeep when all the bugs are out.

this tool is a must have in your tool box , any time injector is out must slightly clean injector cup , no need to retorque bolts to avoid breaking the bolt.

Cleaning the surface is best done with a shotgun cleaning kit and much brake cleaner. You cannot use too much brake cleaner. Just saturate the wide soft brush (mop) with brake cleaner and go to town. I would advise against cutting or removing ANY material from the injector seat, the head is already too thin and you don't need to make it any thinner.

There shouldn't be anything in there that won't be dissolved by brake cleaner. Every one that I've ever done has come out brilliantly shiny after this treatment.

you are right geordi brush is okay , but if its pitted and uneven then you can use tool to cut it just a little bit

I just used a large lag screw for the ones of mine that were seated.
