Hello All,

I loaded Nick's 811 ECU/FCV delete + Stage 1 tune. Everything went as planned and I still have the CEL. What did I do wrong?

Thanks,

Tom

Flash7210,

I automatically thought that re-flashing would solve the CEL. WRONG :) With 147,000 + miles I shouldn't be surprised that I had other issues to solve.

Here's what I got off of the reader at Advance Auto.

1267 Glow plug
0073 Ambient Temp Sensor
1263 Glow plug 2 Control
0107 MAP
0113 Intake Air
0101
0299 Turbo Under

And none of those codes are related to the EGR or FCV which is all the tune takes care of.

What is the DTC? To test glow plugs. 12V to hot and ground the body of the plug?

DTC = Diagnostic Trouble Code or commonly referred to by some as the Check Engine Light....

Anybody else running a Yeti tune get an occasional puff of black smoke out the exhaust?

It happens to me on occasion, when accelerating from a dead stop.
I guess I'm just hitting the throttle a little bit too hard but definitely not flooring it.

I'm not complaining, just an observation.

It can happen especially if you normally drive a light throttle or if you do' a fast gas .....even if you do not floor it .....after a stop

OK,

TOTAL newbie to the concept of DIY tuning. I owned a 2005 CRD for 2 years before it was totaled in a rear end accident. I always wanted to get the GDE tune for it but never had the right money at the right time.

I couldn't bear to drive anything other than another CRD so I picked up a 2006 Limited when one popped up in my area. I am determined to do more with it than my old one. Since I can't currently do the GDE tune, I was directed to this thread to see if I could manage a DIY tune for the time being. After reading 20+ pages of posts, I felt like a had a decent grasp on this. I was able to install MPPS and read my ECU. It looks like I have a 526.

After doing some more reading, I feel like I ALWAYS end up feeling...like I either have the option to learn how to modify the ECU myself or put the MPPS cable on the shelf and begin the long process of waiting for the GDE again. I just cant catch a break...

None of the pre-modified files on the first page will work with a 526 ECU, correct? Does anyone have a working 526 MAP available for general use? I honestly don't have a problem with the idea of learning how to do all this, but I work ~14 hours a day in a high stress job and this doesn't seem like a healthy hobby for my shortened temper. Honestly, I was hoping for a quick "download from page 1, upload to ECU, and drive around with a big smile on my face" experience, not to detract from the AWESOME work that all of the contributors have done here. So, given the situation, how much work am I looking at to get something similar to the EGR/FCV/DTC Delete tune or the EGR/FCV/DTC Delete Mild Tune for my vehicle? I'm willing to put the leg work in if it is a clear cut path, but months worth of learning how to modify maps and DTC codes is not in the stars for me right now. Thanks for reading!

EDIT: After looking at the file in Titanium, it appears to be an 808 file? Does this mean I can use the 808 tunes on page1?
