It made it back to Savannah just fine from just outside of DC... Despite my original plan to only use that tow dolly as a last resort.

In typical Jeep fashion, I got it back together and had it cranking over, and the battery went dead and the computer tossed a bunch of codes in protest. All I had with me was a Scangauge to clear them - it is a nice device but a crappy code reader - and the computer was still stuck in safe mode b/c of something. So no more cranking.

Meanwhile, Murphy was in rare form "helping" me, as the schedule was extremely tight on this trip. All the way to Pa for a timing belt, then back down to DC to pick up the tow clamps from my old CRD... But I couldn't find the brackets in storage, so I couldn't use the tow bar. If I couldn't get it running, it would have to be on a dolly. Then the weather was just hot hot hot at 90 degrees... Great for towing in hills! :banghead:

Oh well, all done with now, and I'm just about to pack the tools and head to the airport for the next CRD adventure on the West Coast. This one will have to wait until I get back before I can flog the computer some more. I'm sure it will want to fire right up, in typical Jeep fashion. :banghead:

Everyone that wanted me getting another one of these... I'm giving Murphy your addresses. :goink:

I get most everyone's project vehicles though. At least it keeps me off the streets, right?

geordi,

Thanks for coming all the way up to PA to do my TB. It was a pleasure to meet you and watching you do what you do. You made it look so darn easy!
You did a fantastic job and Jeorge is running much better now. I'll be sure to drop your name if I know of anyone that needs their TB changed.

Thanks again.

Thank YOU for the kind words, it was great to meet you and your wife and kitty (thank you for doing your best to keep her indoor only) and I hope Scott wasn't too tweaked about my / our ragging on CDJ dealers.

Above all, I'm glad to hear that your Jeep is running great, may it give you many more happy miles, and I'll be waiting to hear from you in another 100k or 5 years. ;)
