Changed my spark plugs yesterday and enjoyed the smoother idle today, until my AC compressor decided to eat itself. :furious: I was driving along the highway wondering why it wasn't cooling when it made an awful sound and puffed a cloud of smoke; I'm pretty sure it scared the crap out of the guy next to me. It looks like the bearings blew out, because there's R134a and oil all over, along with a nice burning smell. Luckily the belt held and still worked, even though it was slipping from the oil. If yours is making a whirring sound when it engages, be prepared for this.

That brown oil is probably all that's left of the bearing... :dead:

The front of the compressor clutch looks melty too

Bonus: At least I get a decent rental while mine's in the shop :JEEPIN:

FINALLY!!!

She's good to go now haha. Paint job is umm...slightly below sub-par...but who care because I'm planning on bedlining it Friday!

Also, she's no longer a Liberty. For those who don't know, outside of North America the Liberty is called Cherokee. Soooo...

Tried to get my tires mounted and would like to give a big "thanks" to stew's tire center in shnecksville pa, for wasting my time and costing me headaches. It would help if they used the right size socket or stopped before it was COMPLETELY round. They grab my attention to say "it's starting to round and we are going to have to torch cut it off" suggesting to torch cut a lug nut on an aluminum wheel let's me know it's time to leave because you shouldn't be working on my jeep. Got it home and had to drill it out but no torch needed (obviously). Tires will have to get mounted another day

Lay blame to the Beavis design of jeeps lug nuts not the tire center.

You can easily torch a stud in aluminum wheel if you know what you are doing.

Replaced both the ball joints on the upper control arms. JBA'S A-arms make it really easy!

Since there are safer options id never opt to torch it when I can fix it in a less aggressive way, I wasn't going to trust them with that, I don't like the lug nuts but if you're careful it shouldn't get that bad

This is only 1.5gal of bedliner. So maybe it's 10-15lbs...

Love the color!!!

Just my :2cents: :2cents: , accent your "Cherokee" trim with the Bedliner, like I did with my trim in a way. Style points, either way paint job looks sick! No more visible scratches. Just know your KK isn't tree proof...

Changed my serpentine belt for giggles.
At 40K the original one was cracked.
At 75K, this one looked to have held up much better.

Sold it...

I got a new car for work and I've also got an MG Midget in the garage. It made sense to sell it off because I haven't been driving it much and I don't have room to keep it at my apartment so it's been sitting at a buddy's place across town. I put it on Craigslist and sold it in less than 24 hours. A guy and his daughter came by to look at it yesterday and she ended up driving home with a pretty badass first car. I know it was the right move, but it was pretty rough letting the KK go. I bought her new so I've had her since 2008. Lots of good road trips and memories in that old Jeep... Oh well, onto the next one, I think I'm going to start looking for an old CJ as a weekend wheeler. It's gonna be tough when winter rolls around and I won't be able to switch on the 4WD in my Fusion. Oh well, I'm sure I'll have a Jeep in the driveway again soon enough.
