hi,
my 04 kj crd dont have max and min writing on the oil dipstick.
i assumed the top of the wider part at the end of the stick is the max.

i changed my oil about a months ago at the jeep service.
the guy at the service poured 4 liter bottle and then half of the 4 liter bottle but didn't measure the exact volume. when i check the dipstick it seems to me a bit overfilled. i added a photo of the stick
what do you think?

I don't have the gas model, so I can't comment on the exact level, but, too much oil can be very bad. Like take out a main seal bad. This is why I won't let anyone touch my vehicles unless absolutely necessary. Did they use the correct oil, or over/under-torque the oil filter or drain plug? Oh, and my favorite. Did they cross-thread the drain plug?

ONE method you can do:
Read the manual for your specific engine oil fill volume.
Park your vehicle on a level pad, a garage usually works well.
Do your own oil/filter change (or closely supervise whatever friend you have helping).
Make sure you give the engine enough time to completely drain the old oil out.
Refill with the manual-specified amount of oil, including the filter change.
Run the engine for a minute to fill the filter and check for leaks.
Let the engine oil drain back down to the sump, (15/20 minutes or so, depending on temps).
Pull the dipstick and note where a full oil change puts you. Take a picture.

If you use a different sized or remote oil filter, you must compensate for the additional volume.

If you're brave - run the engine before you put that last 1/2 quart in and note on the dipstick what a half quart low looks like.

The top of the cross-hatch is the full mark, minimum is the bottom of the cross-hatch. Run it 1/4 inch below maximum and you will minimize oil blow-by through the CCV.
