Hi I am a new KJ owner and wanted to introduce myself and seek some advice. I just bought an 02 KJ Sport. It's a 5-speed and to my surprise has a factory limited slip diff in the back. Any ways it has 176k miles and there are some drivetrain clunks that I notice sometimes when shifting, or when on the freeway above 65+ and I take my foot off the gas or turn off cruise control. Also some clunking when hitting bumps, which I believe to be stabilizer bar end links. I ordered moog links and will install those next week. Are there any common bushings to wear out in the drivetrain with a manual transmission? I am also taking it to a good local shop next week where I will have everything checked out.

Welcome aboard.
At that mileage you're going to most likely be replacing most of the suspension components. Change the differential fluid in the front, rear, and do the transfer case as well.
Your clunking could be the driveshaft.

Thanks for the welcome. Yea, I figured I may be faced with replacing some worn rubber here and there. Replaced the iac motor today. I was planing to use 75w140 synthetic in the front and rear diffs, royal purple synchromesh in the trans and mopar ATF +4 in t case. And You're right, at least some of the clunking is from the driveshaft. Looking at the dorman rebuilt kit...

Is there a preferred oil for these engines? I always like to run synthetic, and in my other car I just run Rotella T6 blue bottle synthetic 5w40, technically a diesel oil. Anything wrong with running that in the 3.7?
