$300 and it ended up being re manufactured. Ouch
I'd complain to them, send it back and get a used one off ebay for $50

It means that the part had been previously used, disassembled, inspected, repaired, reassembled, cleaned, and made to function exactly like a brand new part.
Re manufactured parts are less expensive than brand new parts. And in some case are the only option when brand new parts are no longer made.

A re manufactured Mopar ECU is properly tested to ensure proper function and comes with a warranty.
A used ECU from a junk yard or eBay is not tested, has no warranty, and if it doesn't work you won't be able to return it and get your money back.

The core charge is usually a clue that you are buying a refurbished unit but I'm surprised the dealer didn't advertise it as such and you can probably get a full refund based on misrepresentation if you are not happy with it. Of course, it's highly likely that new modules are no longer manufactured.

Now, you may find these are indeed new units that have simply been reprogrammed and relabeled under a consolidated P/N rather than them stocking vehicle specific parts.

Like Flash says it's better than salvaged but not as good as new.

I am so angry with this Mopar Online Parts! I thought I was buying directly from Mopar. So, if this was re-programmed, can I just plug-and-play it or do I have to go to the dealer to programe it with their official scanner?

Just plug it in and find out. Chances are it's pre f-37 or f-37 tuned

Mine was used and came out of a similar mileage donor. The shifts felt a bit different to start with but it quickly sorted itself out.

I'm not sure what state a new unit will come in but it should recognise the CRD.

If anything doesn't seem right, like harsh shifts, incorrect shift points or a missing gear, a visit to the dealer should fix it.

Let us know how it goes.

I went to see the Chrysler dealer today and he told me that mostly all parts from the KJ 2005 are re-manufactured because Mopar no longer produce them. That is why it was impossible to find the TCM by its original part number and instead it was available by its new number starting with R that means Re-manufactured. The mechanic today told me that most old parts are this way and when he buys it directly from Chrysler, they come re-manufactured if it is for an old car.
My part says it was re-manufactured by Mopar.

How did you uninstall your TCM? Did you have to remove the wheel to get it from the outside? It seems it is screwed from the side of the wheel, not from the front. Plus there are no screw grooves on the new TCM...

No, it's removed from inside the engine bay. Check out Keith's instructions.

So...did it fix your problem? Are you back on the road?

P.S. I don't think everyone appreciates that you're in Argentina, you might consider going into the User Control Panel and adding your location information. You might get more targeted suggestions.

Yes, I fixed the problem and I had to have the TCM programmed by a mechanic with the Chrysler scanner.
The Re-manufactured part came re-programmed by someone who input 1906 as the year of the car instead of 2006...
Again, the mechanic told me that these parts, like the TCM are no longer produced by Mopar, so all of them are Re-manufactured by Mopar itself. That is why these parts numbers start with an R and you cant find them under their original part number anymore. Is that right?
