Did this install this week. Was going to go with Provent, but this was cheaper (i live in Canada, EVERYTHING is triple the cost compared to the USA for auto parts).

Did the EHM months ago, but didn't like the driveway art nor the moisture billowing from the tube in front of the police. (they do vehicle inspections here)

INSTALL PICS

replaced the CCV a while back - even with NEW o rings it leaked still, past the o rings. So i fixed that by using the nitrile / butyl orange o rings that come on the HEADLAMP bulb assemblies. PERFECT snug fit (they are softer) and they handle the heat and oil just fine, over 20,000km's on them.

I didn't use the steel bracket that the unit came with, its direct mount to the steel angle bracket

easy to access the unit to unscrew the cup to drain it

the hose that exits from the MOROSO unit is currently routed down to the underside of the truck. It still smells of crankcase fumes and the moisture is still somewhat visible so i plan to run that hose INTO a custom air dryer unit, one that is full of silica beads (cat litter section in the pet store)...the silica absorbs moisture rapidly and locks it away. I plan to somehow heat the air dryer unit so the trapped moisture is burned off.

OR


I may also drill and tap the intake manifold (away from the MAP sensor) and return the vent hose from the MOROSO unit to the intake manifold.



hope some of you can use this idea, its about a 20 minute install including bracket fabbing

Intake manifold will be pressurized from the turbo.
You will want to do this before the turbo. Like in to the airbox or into the turbo inlet hose.

Using dessicant to trap the water vapor is not a horrible idea, but not all the gasses that come out of the crankcase are water vapor. Most folks use a oven to bake the dessicant and release the water.

mmmm... good point on the manifold being pressurized by the turbo.....

i think i will just run the exit hose from the catch can into a homemade air dryer unit instead. The silica beads are cheap enough that replacing them once every few months is not a big expense.

If you are getting the oil out of the air, why not running back to the intake elbow before the turbo? The oil is the only problem with the crankcase vapor.
