 Post subject: coil spring isolators

Is there a cheap source of these? I feel like the 13 a pop at jba is a bit much, aren't they plastic?

They are a firm rubber. Go with mopar, but cheapest i have found for real isolator have been rock auto. They serve me good.

Notice i said real isolator

Figured I would add some more technical jargon to this topic.

There are different names for the types of rubber. Like polypropylene, polyurethane, neoprene, etc etc. The poly part of the name indicates that it's not a solid and can flex.

All plastic/rubber pieces are measured on a device that evaluates durometer. The higher the durometer, the firmer and more durable the material is.

It is similar, sort of, to a Rockwell gauge, which measures a materials hardness compared to other metallic materials.

Pointless info I know. A low durometer isolated will end up bulging and crumbling in no time.
