Custom Grille for an 05 Renegade...

I am looking for a custom grille for my 05 Rene...I have seen a couple of places that carry chrome, but that shiny look does not fit my Rene's looks...I'm looking for Stainless or diamondplated, or perhaps brushed black, just not too shiny. The reason is functionality mainly. I do a lot of highway driving, and some offroading with friends, and the paint on my grille is taking a beating! I leave on the top half of two piece bra to protect hood. It does a great job, my hood looks brand new after 17,000 miles, but my grille is a little worn now. Any ideas where I might find one? I'll assume the total lack of a response means that there may not be a grille other than chrome available for my Libby. LOL

I would suggest you get it line-xd or rhino lined , I have seen some like that, and it doesnt look half bad.... my .02

I don't know if chrome is even available, the renegade grill is a different shape than the limited, so you can't just throw a limited grill on there. You need a grill off a 2006 or 2006 Renegade or Rocky Mountain, nothing else will fit.

You can maybe get some grill inserts, I've seen some of those. They fit right into the 7-slots and change the look quite a bit.

Thanks for the input...I'll look into the rhino lined. Also, there is a chrome grille available for the 05-06 Renegade. Jeep and some accessory carrier offer it for $159. Just this morning I actually saw chrome grille on a khaki Rene that was either 05 or 06. It looked good, just not sure how it will look on silver Rene. Thanks again for the ideas.

Sorry the lighting is bad...we haven't had much sun shine lately....it hasn't rained either that much until usually late at night...once the sun decides to shine I'll get some better ones

This I gotta see - post a link to a pic or to the place selling it, I think I might want one! I know they have the inserts, but I really will be totally surprised if I see a full chrome grill for a renny.

A lot of places say things will fit when they won't (brush guards, marker lights, just to name a couple).

You could also get 30" x 60" vinyl (from a sign shop or similar) and apply a 1 piece vinyl coating over the existing grill. Although I think a Rhino Lined grill would look better, with the vinyl you could get almost any color...

I havn't found a pic on any websites yet of the new rene chrome grille, but I saw it in person at Dan's Jeep in Westborough, MA. It was up on the wall hanging with a price of $159. I also saw one on a khaki 05-06 rene on I93 in Boston the other day. Believe me, they are out there! LOL As soon as I find a pic pop up on a site I'll post the link and or pic.

It's listed as a different part number than the 2002-2004 and 2005-2006 Sport+Limited chrome grills. No photo, but it's getting pretty convincing. That's very un-like DC to offer a replacement part that was never offered as a standard part on any of the production models. I wonder how my renegade would look with a chrome face.....

do you guys know if a non chrome grille from an 06 sport/renny would fit a limited?
i like the chrome and all but sometimes i'd like to change it...especially when i start
takin the kj off road...so the chrome doesn't get beat up. suggestions?

I believe the grille from the renne is a tad different than the grille for a sport or ltd. If Im wrong someone please chime in. I too would like to get rid of my bling bling chrome grille as well.

The Sports and Limiteds have the same grill (as far as i know) the renegades have the flat hood instead of the curved one so I doubt those type of grills will fit, but that is how the chrome one got on mine, the dealer took a chrome grill off a limited and put it on mine and then ordered a new one from DCX for the Limited...

I think your best bet would be to find somebody who wants bling and trade them. For everyone who wants to lose the chrome there is somebody else who wants to gain it.

I say start a post with a subject like "My chrome 06 grill for your ___ grill" where ___ is the color you are looking for. If you're lucky, somebody in the area will want to swap with you.

Also check eBay. A lot of people seem to be buying chrome grills and selling off their old ones for $cheap. For example, here's one for $15:

Thanks for the links to the grille part #'s Se7enLC...It looked real good on the khaki rene I saw. I wasn't interested in putting on the chrome one until I saw it on a new style rene. It actually looked like a good blend into the rene's design, even though it seems more of a limited type of hood, it worked!
