Lately had some trouble starting up the KK. She started up but shutdown a few seconds later. A red "dot" appeared in the dashboard every time this happened. When I went to the shop the mechanic told me that the ignition cylinder and the key are worn-out and they don't make the necessary "contact" to start the engine so he stated I need a new cylinder and set of keys.

Also getting a message "GATE" displayed in the dashboard and the interior lights stayed ON. The mechanic mentioned it may be a switch problem of the back window. Anybody had any trouble with the back window?? I want to know if I need to replace something.
Thanks

Replace the battery in the key fob. There is a transmitter in there which talks to the WCM (wireless communication module) by the ignition switch.
If you have another key fob try that one.

Not sure of the year rig you have but there is a TSB for the Gate ajar message.
You can also try pulling up the plastic molding that's around the metal latch (hook) that holds your gate closed. You will see 2 torx screws, loosen them, push the latch to the left (drivers side) and tighten the screws. It won't move very far over, but it may fix your problem.

My KK is a 2008, I replaced the keys and cylinder. Will do what you suggested for the rear window.
Thanks a lot
