I thought I did too. But I couldn't tell if there was a pin hole or if it was coming out of the fitting. Once it stopped flowing I couldn't see where a hole would be.

Wipe it dry, air dry, and then put some Gorilla glue over ALL the fitting and pin hole looking area. You won't be able to see a puncture of that size very easily. I have electrical tape on my windshield washer hose. But that's under a lot less pressure than power steering.

Well it's at the shop now so hopefully they can do something today. If not I'll look into other temporary options.

Well the parts are only $30 on rockauto.com but it's sort of a pain to get in there to change them...

That's what I was afraid of. Probably a couple hours labor. The good news is that they don't have to drain any of the existing fluid out.

I'm hoping the shop does. The stuff I put it didn't last long enough to make a difference

The manual has weird wording. "MOPAR Power Steering Fluid +4, MOPAR ATF+4 Automatic Transmission
Fluid or equivalent licensed ATF+4 product."

Hopefully the shop has something equivalent as I know they more than likely don't have any Mopar products on hand. And of course I didn't have this info until after I dropped it off.

detailed the interior of the KK today!!! finally. washed the carpet today. it always looked clean, but man was it filthy.

also hooked up my solar panel voltage monitor. its been disconnected for months and wanted to see the voltage again.

maybe ill detail the kk exterior tomorrow. im expecting a call sometime this week in Virginia, so I don't want to keep myself too busy doing jeep related shenanigans. though I do want it to be shiny when I do get that call.

and no, she is rarely a garage jeep. just stole the opportunity to park her in there today

Did a 5 tire rotation this morning.
Tomorrow afternoon I'll do an oil change.

I got slapped with a $260 invoice for fixing the power steering fluid leak. I haven't seen the breakdown of charges yet but that seems a bit outrageous.

Even at $60 an hour that would make it a $140 part...

Nah not around here it's not. Their posted rate is actually $57 or $58.

I got the invoice. It was 1.3 hours labor but the part was $171.00. They ended up getting a Mopar replacement. I'm sure there weren't any parts in stock at Napa and they were trying to get me back on the road. While I'm not please about the cost, they did take me in last minute on a Friday morning and had it done at 5:00 that same day. So I'm appreciative of that. This shop usually books 2 weeks in advance, at least.
